Midnight Brown.

Too easy.

Dark Chocolate or Espresso Brown. I often use those names with clients for a very dark, almost black, brown.

And maybe it's just the designer in me but I think a very dark brown is much more interesting than black. It has just the right amount of personality than the overused black can't compare with.

Look at all the colors sports teams will have to avoid now!

"lol red and yellow, did somebody say McDonalds, badada I'm lovin' it"

"no I said poop"

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

"Midnight Poop" for the anti-brown people on the board.

Atlanta is a poop sports town.

as far as everything i've heard/read, these are what the uniforms will look like.

Home: Pinstripes, updated Padres wordmark.

Away: In the same realm as the old khaki road uniforms, but supposedly darker. Unsure if wordmark will remain the same.

Alternate: Brown, Yellow SD on chest.

We're only a week and a half away, but we're pretty much just waiting on wordmarks at this time, anything is an improvement over this garbage we've had the last few years.

Well that and the choice of Camo going forward since that is reportedly being retained. Just a question if its the now longest tenured Padres uni USMC pattern or a new version (perhaps the new Navy pattern that replaces the oft derided Blueberries).

I wish, really wish, that we would go back to the original Camos, easily the favorite ones we've worn.

So both updates (Padres and Brewers)  are going to now include pinstriped primary uniforms? Lame.

Oh the ones with the stylized Camo and green cap? I was actually quite fond of that particular cap.

That said I think it’s cool they got the Marine Corp to actually approve of using their copyrighted pattern. Especially given the Marine Corp inroads in SD. (Which yes Gothamite is why they’re continuing it. San Diego is arguably the biggest military town in the US (and unquestionably the largest hosting a major league team)). Military Sunday is a tradition.

I sure hope you are joking or misinformed. Pinstripes at home and khaki roads is almost bad enough to ruin the return to brown. Horrible.

That’s been a consistent rumor I’ve heard a couple of places now. Pinstripes at home, non-traditional road unis in the vein of the sand unis earlier last decade.

I’m pleased with the return of the pinstripes from the late 80’s and 90’s. Not fond of the sand return, but at least I don’t have to see it since it’s a road uni. Overall people in SD I’ve talked to seem happy with the pinstripes being back.

I recognize that. But not all traditions are good ones. 😉

In a city like SD where 7% of the city is active military or dependents and a further 13% of the population are vets... it definitely is a good one.
