So, 10/30 teams match their seat colors (Oakland probably by accident).  The Padres changing away from the navy in the seats isn't going to make a bit of difference.

No one should care about seat colors. They don't matter. At all.

 

I like the white/yellow SD, but think all yellow is better than all white. Given the choice among those three options, all yellow is probably the most striking and least likely to appear washed out, especially in the warm California sun.

 

I went to Dave Winfield's HOF enshrimement, whenever that was. I bought this hat at one of the local shops (really huge store...Harvey's?).

 

 

Anyway, the cap was great but the sizing was off. It was enormous on me and I never wore it. It's since lost in a move or three.

Mickey’s is amazing, especially for caps. I’ve been buying Cooperstown Collection 59Fiftys from them for more than ten years. They’re the only place you can find some of those retro styles.

It's been 15 years or so since I was there, but I remember being in awe of their selection. If you like MLB caps, it's a really awesome place to be. I mean, it's Cooperstown; it kind of goes without saying.

You never, ever, hear anyone bringing seat colours up in any other context. It's the last gasp argument of people who have no other points to argue.

It’s funny. The times I hear people complain about seat color the most is when They’re talking about Heinz field. 
 

fun fact? They complain because they’re yellow, a team color of the Steelers.

That gap really bothers me when the two letters are separated by color. 

 

As for unique, the Twins already use a two-color monogram. 

 

Those are two of my favorite hats. Just wish that I had bought the SD one when it was available in the Low Profile version. Just gorgeous.

The complaint(which I didnt make clear) is that they're ugly. I think most would have preferred a neutral green, blue, or black.

I went to my first Celtics game since they switched the garden seats from yellow to black this week ... gotta say it was much easier on the eyes and matched the team on the court better. Which matters less when the actual game is happening than it does during pregame or whatever, and yellow was always a bold choice. But I was surprised how much my brain picked up on the difference.

Catching up:

 

1) I think they made the right choice with just yellow for the SD and all brown for the cap. It will be interesting to see if they release any alternates on Saturday

2) I think the seats can definitely remain blue, but I would like to see maybe green walls and maybe some tan paint, or bringing the sandstone into the seating bowl a little more

Comparison of a new version of Padres word mark that showed up on their charity site (albeit as "COMPADRES") with their old wordmark. To me, its a big improvement. P, A, D and R are more rounded and all of the letters have a skinnier & longer feel which is way better.

It feels weird that they're slowly leaking elements of their new design a week or two before the unveil. it's either really savvy, or really stupid. Considering this is the Padres we're talking about, I have to assume the latter.

Assuming it  has anything to do with the new word mark. The old compadres word mark had no relation other than coloring with the team word mark.

Late to the party, as always, but I noticed that the friar in the backdrop is using tan instead of yellow, and it looks really good.  The SD on the brown cap would look immensely better in tan rather than yellow.
