Gothamite
Those are somebody's concepts based on secondhand reports of descriptions of options that we shown to focus groups. So about as legit as anything you read on the Internet.

I hope that's 100% legit.
Ben in LA
My choices would be: In the case of that Swinging Friar cap, I’d have the crown brown and the bill gold.
WSU151
The brown hat with the white and yellow (gold) SD is by far my favorite. I'd buy it today if it were on sale. The yellow (gold) friar hat is a decent alt/ST hat. Not big on the yellow panel. I like solid hats, in general. It's weird that these concepts (yes, the legitimacy of which are in question) have a number font that is heavy on angles, when the SD monogram and the wordmarks are very smooth and curvy. BJ Sands
That sand color would get real old real fast. The brown and yellow are unique enough. No need to reinvent the wheel with the color of the road uniform.
coco1997
I like the plain sand road uniforms, but when paired with a brown top, the pants look too much like generic dress khakis. They need pinstripes.
SilverBullet1929
If this is really the direction they're heading there's almost no wrong choice there. Of course we can debate which ones would be best but they're all, finally, where the Padres should be headed. I think that's a big win for everyone.
OnWis97
Most of those are pretty nice. My favorites: Hat: Brown hat with yellow logo. I really don't like any other hat. Swinging friar should not be on an on-field hat. I don't like front panels and I find the two-colored "SD" to be jarring. Home jersey: Pinstriped. The chest logo one is too boring (needs piping). Not a fan of the yellow wordmark or the yellow piping. The bottom-row white jersey is solid and a close second. Road Jersey: This is the weak point of what I'm seeing. I think gray-road pinstripes gets old (and I'm a Twins fan). But that's my favorite because the gray is more gray (or is it that the pinstripes make cause that illusion?). The "San Diego" wordmark is good and would be nice on a truer gray. I like the "SD" with piping (but brown logo would be better). Brown Alt: Love the SD with piping. I like the tan trim, even if I don't want tan road uniforms. With the exception of the hats, it's mostly splitting hairs...from the neck down, these would look great no matter what. As an aside, I don't see too much complaint about this but does anyone else dislike the little gap in the "D?" I HATE it. It's one of the most most annoying little details I can think of to come out in the last few years. Is it supposed to provide the illusion of of a drop shawdow? Or is it just trying too hard?

FiddySicks
I for one really hope the Padres DON’T pair any of this with pinstripes. They have only used pinstripes sparingly throughout their history anyway (I don’t count the PCL days because you shouldn’t in this case IMO), and outside of the one era when they played Yankee dress up plus orange, it’s never been a good look for them. Even that particular look wasn’t all that great.
_DietDrPepper_
Really disappointed with those options. The use of the current wordmark is frustrating, they have much better options. Also not a fan of the brown jersey with kaki pants, and the kaki in general, could be better. I like the friar hat and the hats in general. But it could be better
hawk36
Please: - No different color for "S" and "D" - No tan - No double outlines - Yes to yellow outlined in brown
Krona
Caught this a while back. Anybody ever noticed the (unintentional) 'P' in the logo?

Should apply a gradient color scheme to that logo to accentuate that fact. Would at minimum look nice as an alternative hat.
Gothamite
They won't start emphasizing it because it's totally unintentional. They wouldn't have put the line break where they did if there was any intention of creating a P.
Marlins93
I don't know if it's the color combinations, the swoosh, or both, but all of those Padres jersey concepts feel like they're from college ball rather than MLB.
