No, I don't think it means anything.  Unfortunately, because that would be a huge improvement.  Especially these numbers:

I would love to believe that was the Brewers' new number font.

But the Brewers have a tendency to use lots of various fonts all over.  This is the one they're using in a lot of their branding this year, but it has nothing to do with what appears or will appear on uniforms.

I absolutely love that number font.  If you squint hard enough that 9 even looks like the shape of a beer barrel.  With a new name for Miller Park next year, probably a ton of new faces on the team, this is prime time to move forward with a change in uniforms.

So the Yankees and White Sox are going to play at the Field of Dreams - what're the chances we get throwbacks for this game?

It'd be great to see the White Sox do the 1919 home unis

Think the Yankees do the jerseys that Ray's dad wears - maybe in a gray?

Or will we see the gray NEW YORK or YANKEES block text?

Although the marketing for the event so far has the Yankees in roads and the White Sox in the black alternates - which would be a huge missed opportunity if you ask me.

Although interestingly this ad has Judge in pinstripes - so maybe we get a white on white like in the movie? London set the precedent that this is okay now...

Rays doing a back to back road trip with the Cubs and Brewers...really want to make the trip but it’s Independence Day weekend, not going to be inexpensive

Thats a fun trip even if your favorite team isn’t involved.   A while back I went to miller/Wrigley/US Cell in a fri/sat/sun trip.  Loads of fun.  I recommend it.  If you’re a rays fan find the series they play the Sox and build it around that if you don’t want to go around the fourth

Speaking of schedule releases, check out the Padres:

LOVE that color scheme.

The brown looks maybe a little bit too dark to me, but there’s no reason to complain at this point. It’s hard to believe the brown & yellow is actually coming back!

It looks to me like it is the same brown colour that is on the brown alternates, but I could be wrong

Worth it. I went to a Giants Cubs game at Wrigley and toured Miller Park around the 4th about eight(!) years ago and it was a fantastic experience.

ProTip: If you can work it out to where you're in Chicago during The Taste of Chicago, you've got to make that happen. That is a GREAT event. Locals will probably scoff at that (Like they do any time someone says how excited they are for Lollapalooza), but as a visitor, it's something you would probably enjoy.

Yet another "retro" wordmark has wound up on the back of a the flexfit version of a Brewers cap that will be worn with the current mark.  The players weekend cap in this case.

Maybe it's because that brown and gold Padres schedule that was released yesterday reminds me of what could be for my team, but this honestly makes more frustrated than excited.  Quit dragging out the inevitable, Brewers!

Houston and Toronto also used the correct colors when they did it.  The navy BiG will never be right to me.  It has to be royal/yellow full time.  On a side note ( I think someone on here mentioned it way earlier this year) could the lettering on all the new signage at the spring training facility be signifying something?spacer.png

It's got a very microbrew kind of vibe, which seems like a nautral direction to head if they go with a rebrand.

Especially when their current branding was obviously inspired by what the macro brews were doing at the turn of the century.

That said, I almost fear this will look just as dated once the craft beer trend starts to fizzle out. I could still live with those wordmarks, but if it were up to me I'd pair those gorgeous numbers with the Robin 3,000 scripts.

I do think that font would get dated pretty quickly. All it would take is a change in design trends among microbrews to become dated. And it looks awfully similar to what the Astros have done.

I'd much rather see the Brewers mine from one of their previous looks, rather than introduce yet another look into their franchise's history. The Robin Yount script, perhaps without the tail, should be it, IMO:

The Brewers have had a number of quality looks in their history, including the Motre Bame look. I'd much rather see them modernize one of those than introduce something completely new, and take one more step toward becoming the Padres of the Midwest.

No way would they ever bring back Motre Bame.  That's not well liked locally and is associated with some very bad teams.

If they brought back this one or the American Association one that @Gothamite posted, I'd be ecstatic.  I do like the the number font at the spring training facility though.  As I alluded to before, I think the numbers have more staying power than the scripts.  They're traditional, yet recognizable from across the street like the Red Sox, but not lazy and sloppily excecuted like the Brewers current numbers.
