RyanMcD29 775 Posted March 21, 2020 Not sure if this got lost in the shuffle, but it looks like MLB The Show's once again got the postseason logos for the current year and have them out before MLB officially released them. Found this off a video on YouTube

Even while the season is underway, there's still going to be people getting it and dying from it (just hopefully at a much lower rate.) Or do people just want sports back as a distraction enough that they'd rather there not be any kind of reminder on the uniforms or fields? I would not advocate for a memorial patch, but if they did I would hope it would be a black armband at most. I really don’t want to see a Covid-19 patch or ribbon.

They didn’t do it for swine flu, Ebola, or any of the other pandemics recently. Also I think sports is just trying to get restarted again and leave the disease in the past as only an asterisk at most

itsmb8 612 Posted March 22, 2020 Just a heads up, the Shop has, seemingly, all jerseys at $100 off. So now Nike authentics are at a good price.

FiddySicks 11,057 Posted March 22, 2020 Awful news. I absolutely LOVE the alternate “SF” road jersey. The headspoon piping absolutely ruins the regular road jersey, and that’s a pretty nice compromise. I’d much prefer the road jersey they wore with the first World Series win, though. It matches the home set better and just looks so much better. I still can’t believe they ditched that right after winning their first ever World Series (in SF) while wearing it.
Dynasty 2,394 Posted March 22, 2020 I also hate the contrasting piping on the current away uniform (headspoon doesn't even match the rest).

In any case, I’m glad they dropped the alt. “SF” on the chest never, ever looked right to me.

It looked right in the context of an homage to the full house unis. I agree though on ditching the placket piping. Especially now that the sf alt is retired.
alecgoff 841 Posted March 22, 2020 I'm fine with whatever the Giants plan to do with their uniforms, so long as they remove the unnecessary gold drop shadow.
the admiral 28,304 Posted March 22, 2020 Use the dugout jackets to do an SF on the chest. The cursive "San Francisco" never fit the set, the home script doesn't look right on black backgrounds, and I never cared for the vintage Giants script.

I wish more teams did dugout-specific cursive scripts (imagine the White Sox one in black/silver/white). That last one is unofficial, but is the perfect application for the cursive "Tigers" script. Also, the vintage "Giants" cursive wordmark is beautiful and I'll stand by its use.
the admiral 28,304 Posted March 22, 2020 I like the Yankees, White Sox, and Tigers ones, maybe because they're nicknames and not the location name. I don't know, maybe it's just one style too many when you have the vintage cursive Giants, the stylized block letter Giants, the condensed-block San Francisco, and the cursive San Francisco. The three I rattled off are the only instances of the full team nickname, and in the case of the Tigers and Sox, are related to corresponding road scripts.
