I will repeat myself: the compromise solution should have been to be the Los Angeles Angels, who play at Anaheim Stadium. That way everyone is happy. Think of it as Anaheim having the naming rights instead of a utility company, leading to us calling it what it had been called for 30ish years anyway.

ad patches for the NBA work because they fit really nicely between the collar and armholes, and are small enough to wear it isnt really distracting.  Plus, it balances out with the Nike patch.  It wouldnt really work for baseball because baseball jerseys are so much bigger that itd be like putting an ad in the middle of a sheet of paper.  I just think with the swoosh its different because Nike puts the swoosh in that specific spot on EVERYTHING, so to see the swoosh anywhere else would look weird IMO.

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and call this a bad move. Los Angeles Angels is dumb. Everybody knows the Dodgers are the team of LA. This is the same thing with the Clippers and Lakers. What's the point of doing this? It's not going to work, it will never work.

Anaheim Angels was a great name, not only that, but Anaheim is not even Los Angeles. I know alot of sports teams play outside of their designated city and I could go on about that but I won't. What's wrong with Anaheim? It has Disneyland! Everybody loves Disneyland!

Please provide evidence that it "doesn't work" and "will never work".

i was about to talk specifically about football jerseys and say "the nfl negotiated it onto the sleeves" but college teams have the swoosh on the front.  but its still a bad idea from the NFL because a) its messes up sleeve patterns, or b) teams design sleeve patterns AROUND the swoosh, aka Seattle.

This might just be me, but as someone who speaks Spanish regularly, through school and social rounds alike, Los Angeles Angels, is grammatically awkward. Angeles, is spanish for Angels (obviously). So at least for me, Anaheim or California is better than The Angels Angels.

Even In spanish, Los Angeles de Los Angeles is weird. Like people know what your talking about and so it makes sense. But it’s just... weird. Los Angeles de California, or de Anaheim sound much better.

You mean because that’s a league requirement, in college it’s in the same spot as the nba and mlb jerseys.

That's not what I meant.

Yeah, no. Nike and MLB have a multiyear contract. As long as Nike abides by that deal, they don’t have to change anything.

I'd actually like the swoosh to be placed on a separate patch.  At least that way it's clear that it's an ad and not an integral part of the design

Part of the (genius) of the swoosh is that it doesn't require any letters/words to go along with it, and can be rendered in any color without losing anything.  My eye can look right past the StubHub logo no the Sixers uniform, since it's a different color in a separate patch and clearly something just plastered on after the fact.  The swoosh, being strictly an icon, and being woven directly into the material, looks (in some cases) like part of the design.

Even though it's bigger and even tackier, I"d almost prefer this:

Interesting because the Angels have been referred to as los Angelinos by the media and public here in SoFla. Los Angelinos de Los Angeles is equally as awkward.

California Angels

I’ve always kind of wanted them to go with the Orange County Angels moniker. That way you would have the two SoCal teams (sorry Padres, nobody remembers you) be the LA Dodgers and the OC Angels.

Thats not gonna fly with a lot of people, though.
