They now charge $42. We were paying $38 for USA made last year. They want to say it’s tariffs or whatever else they can throw blame at. For me, it’s just a common theme to overcharge customers and raise prices. Even with import tariffs increasing, they closed Derby down for a reason. The $38 msrp could’ve stayed with overseas taking over. Or find a way to raise them to $42 and stay in the USA. Instead they double dipped, closed up American production, and raised prices for inferior products. And to think it’s new eras 100th birthday this year. The standard ‘crappy’ Chinese mickeys place customs, or ecap city, or myfitteds caps are actually quite superior to the new breed of Bangladesh caps. I always started the year with remedial geography because A) I felt it was important to understand where the things we’d be talking about took place, and B ) it was sorely needed. Lids did a great job grouping items together and you could see how all of the teams compared to each other. Underrated feature of their former site.
