I’d hope they’d go all-in on a Bundesliga-style identity for their crest and name. Follow Inter Miami’s example of using non-English naming traditions, if Inter Miami doesn’t turn out to be vaporware or a tulpa.

I had the idea of a Milwaukee club called 1846 United FC, inspired by the tendency of Bundesliga clubs to include years in their name.  It's a reference to the Milwaukee Bridge War of 1845 and the subsequent uniting of the warring settlments the following January to create the City of Milwaukee.

Yeah the name is 90s Minor League, but it's 30s Major League!

Add that to my search history, I’ll be up all night reading ab 1930s soccer now lol.

But I still think Bavarians SC or Bavarian SC is better. It’s more modern and stands out better

That's actually their official name.

If I was in charge of Sacramento's logo update for when they get in MLS (AND I SHOULD BE) I'd flip the positions of the bear and the star. The bear from the state flag should be the focal point, especially because nobody else in MLS uses that animal while any team can use a star. Also, a red star works in smaller sizes such as the bottom of a soccer badge, that the detailed bear doesn't.

Simplifying the badge and removing the bevels was a good decision.

I’ll put in a good word for you ;)

But seriously, your work would merit it. I’d love to see what you could come up with for the SRFC brand.

While we’re at it, Milwaukee’s Bavarian SC is celebrating its 90th anniversary this season, and have a shirt with their 1929 logo:

I bought one of those, too. 😉

Can’t see it in this picture, but they have faint tonal pinstripes.  The badge reads “FCB”, the club’s original name.

Sorry, just got a little impatient.  😂

With that keyline, you've executed a flawless update to a logo that was already very. very good.   But what will you change when you get to MLS?  ;)

Because, c'mon, this is going to fit right in.

Forward Madison unveiled their kits today. I bought the home blue, modeled after the Madison flag.

and the secondary goalkeeper kit:

Maybe it's just me, but I don't particularly like the secondary logo on the side of the blue jersey, it sticks out too much. The white is really nice though.

The USL is definitely the more fun league when it comes to kits and branding. MLS is very professional and buttoned up, which is fine. But I rather like some of the wackyness in the USL. It reminds me of the early days of MLS.

Dont think I realized that the back has subtle tonal stripes.

And BTW, you should read her whole thread - it’s a great story. There was a problem getting the uniforms from Hummel, so Peter Wilt called a friend and asked her to serve as a courier from Boston.
