The Giants will be starting dudes named Connor Joe and Michael Reed. I’m not convinced these are real players.

Then 5th place it is. 3rd place if I'm being highly optimistic.

I was at Citizens Bank Park today for the Phillies' opener. Harper got a MASSIVE ovation when he was first announced and for his first at bat. After starting the day going 0-3 with 2 Ks, people were booing him after his 3rd AB (2nd K) and when he came up for his 4th. Welcome to Philly, Bryce!

If I was there I’d have thrown my shoe at him. Didn’t pay all that $$$ to go to a game and watch a guy strike out. Now we know exactly why nobody else would give him that length and money, and why Trout’s deal dwarfs his.

NFL draft is coming soon, so I guess we have that to look forward to, because baseball season is already over for all I care.

I said this exact thing to my Mom this morning,

"They're going to give him an ovation, and the SECOND he strikes out they're going to want his head on a silver platter."

It was an ironic boo. I heard he was laughing with some fans over it.

He actually did exactly what he needed to yesterday - he was intentionally walked and they Rhys Hoskins hit a grand slam. Normally Hoskins would have been pitched around, then some jabroni would have struck out.

Hoskins has MVP bat potential, but just isn’t quite there. Now with Harper in front and Realmuto behind, he should be able to break out like he did as a rookie.

Hoskins definitely has MVP potential, if he can make use of every walk given to Harper, like he did yesterday. Then there's going to come a time where pitchers begin walking both Hoskins and Harper, regardless of how the bases look.

that's where it helps to have Realmuto or some other decent hitter behind him.  He didn't really have that last year, and he's not yet the kind of hitter that do it all on his own.  He's great "protection" for Harper (as much as you believe in that kind of thing) and finally has some of his own.  "They" say that playing his natural position should help him out too since he may have been too focused on learning outfield last year, but I think that's nonsense and after the first week you should be able to just go out there and play.  Come on - he had to learn positioning and how to play balls off the wall - not become a CPA.

The Orioles are a .500 ball club.

My hot take is that they aren't going to be the worst team this year. They're better than the Tigers, White Sox, Marlins, and Giants.

Wasn't there also no chance the Cardinals won the World Series in 2011? Or the Mets won the 1969 World Series? It seems very every year, less and less of these "predictions" about how teams will do come true.
