OK...Here is the best shot I can get for the 1983 USFL Championship Game at Mile High Stadium, Denver, CO (I could not match the 3% axis change on the skinned part of the field, so I got it as best as possible).

Michigan Panthers 24 Philidelphia Stars 22

Yea, I just noticed that. I am about 3 weeks from the end of my High School Football Umpire season (29th in Arizona and 34th over all). I plan to update and work on fields I ahve not completed yet like Baltimore (Stars), Jacksonville (Bulls), Memphis (Showboats), and Oklahoma/Arizona (Outlaws).

Are you still working on the Showboats font? I'm sorry, I never got a chance to take a stab at it.

Didn't they spray paint some of the field with what you'd get from home depot to save money?

You Might be right. I remember something about "cost-cutting" measures back in the day.

"The Home Depot

More Savings

More Doing

Even painting Pro Football Fields!"

(And I can take a shot. I work for The Home Depot Call Center LOL)

Late Season 1984

Very odd that the team used the painted logo for the early part of the season. And then the second half no logo at all.

Update,

I found a tape of the lowest attended game in USFL history. Only 4307 showed up in Soldier Field on a rainy Monday May 28,1984. New Jersey Generals vs The Chicago Bltiz. The Blitz, did use an unpainted Wishbone "C" at midfield. And painted the outlines of the wordmark "Chicago" a faint red, in the end zones.
