Obviously this is a random Reddit account but they way he describes the names of the colors reads like it's from a press release. "It’s a bold “NY”. The whole set is way more representative of New York City than it is the Jets branding, and I actually really like that. The black set is even a love letter to the “City that never sleeps”. The new colors are “Big Apple Green”, “Jet Black”, and “LimeLight”. It’s definitely different, it’s striking, it’s not like anything in the NFL, and to me looks like a team tired of playing second fiddle ready to, well, embrace the limelight. The numbers are probably my favorite part. Absolutely massive." I asked him where did he get the names of the colors "The press release. “Big Apple Green” is a deep shade of green that is rich but still appears to glow, “Jet Black” is exactly what it sounds like, and “Limelieght” is a bright neon green with an almost yellowish tinge to it." Edit: I hope it's not true, sounds like there going heavy black and ignoring the white. This sounds like BS. Especially since it came from Reddit. I remember last year around this time an "insider" "hacked" into Nike's site and described the Titans uniforms. Ended up being extremely wrong. This smells similar. Most schools in the late 80s and throughout the 90s had giant numbers. To be fair those look fairly normal due to how big and bulky the pads were and loose fitting the jerseys were. Honestly, not a horrid colour scheme, just poorly executed. Unsure if that's an unpopular opinion though.... but as others have pointed, the Irish Rainbow set of the Bucks qualifies. If the black is minimalistic save for the alt, it could work for the Jets IMO.... just trying to think optimistically.

Very possible, but the cheerleaders changing their uniforms so drastically during a rebrand greatly increases the odds of the team using that color scheme as well. Jezus_Ghoti
If dark green and lime green were the colors, and not kelly green, it seems bizarre that only a Reddit guy would know that and not any of the real journalists who have reported details about these uniforms. That leads me to believe this is yet another case of a Redditor connecting some dots (cheerleaders, etc.) and taking a wild stab.

From what we've heard, the new green is darker than Kelly, but lighter than the current green. The green on the cheerleader uniforms fits that description. Sure, it's very possible the redditor is full of crap, but the cheerleader uniforms are the best piece of evidence we have so far, so we can't just ignore them.
