oldschoolvikings 17,968 Posted March 30, 2019 Whether it's true or not with the Jets, I'm sure we're going to see more of those Oregon style giant numbers in the NCAA. That's a trend that's going to become over used, dated, and ridiculous in a hurry.

Would not be surprised if these are the colours. Graphics on the New York Jets website have featured a lot of lime green lettering for a while. Have been thinking this might by a hint about where the colour scheme is going. Thinking lime green trim really good possibility.
Frylock 236 Posted March 30, 2019 I realize it's not the same thing, but it seems plausible that we are going from mis-matched greens to contrasting greens. I don't think it's going to be an improvement. On the flipside, I think of the Irish Rainbow Bucks, and how that became a lasting part of their identity. Even though it's just a recolor of the Tequila Sunrise *cough*...
CowboyKevin 6 Posted March 30, 2019 I just hope the pants have regular stripes that extend from top to bottom and not abbreviated, pointed or curved striping (or some kind of wording). Oh, and no side panels please.

When I hear about the "Big Apple Green" with "Jet Black" and "Limelight Green", and see the colour scheme of the Jets' graphics on their website, can't help but think they might be going with a colour scheme similar to ill-fated third uniform the Saskatchewan Roughriders wore for a short period of time.

Obviously this is a random Reddit account but they way he describes the names of the colors reads like it's from a press release. "It’s a bold “NY”. The whole set is way more representative of New York City than it is the Jets branding, and I actually really like that. The black set is even a love letter to the “City that never sleeps”. The new colors are “Big Apple Green”, “Jet Black”, and “LimeLight”. It’s definitely different, it’s striking, it’s not like anything in the NFL, and to me looks like a team tired of playing second fiddle ready to, well, embrace the limelight. The numbers are probably my favorite part. Absolutely massive." Edit: I hope it's not true, sounds like there going heavy black and ignoring the white. its possible things have changed, but those are not the color names ive been told. take all this with a grain of salt
Gothamite 24,112 Posted March 30, 2019 1 hour ago, monkeypower said: I think it was that there's a minimum size, but not a maximum. Yep. Rule 5, Section 4, Article 3(c): Quote Numerals Numerals on the back and front of jerseys in accordance with Rule 5, Section 1, Article 2. Such numerals must be a minimum of 8 inches high and 4 inches wide, and their color must be in sharp contrast with the color of the jersey. Smaller numerals should be worn on the tops of the shoulders or upper arms of the jersey. Small numerals on the back of the helmet or on the uniform pants are optional. If you’re curious, 5.1.2 is where they lay out the number range by position. But no maximum size, only minimum.

schlim 722 Posted March 30, 2019 Not sure about this combo of the skyline into the jets motif.
Gothamite 24,112 Posted March 30, 2019 Not if you live here. A smaller city might forever be defined by such a tragedy. But New York? There’s too much else. As we near twenty years’ distance, I doubt it’s even the fifth thing New Yorkers think of when they think “planes”.
schlim 722 Posted March 30, 2019 I changed that post Gothamite. But I feel the same way, I just didn't want things to derail further along another tangent.

schlim 722 Posted March 30, 2019 One can hope the Jets turned down the 'Clear-Sky' clear side panels Nike was pushing on them.
ramsjetsthunder 1,289 Posted March 30, 2019 I would actually think a two-green set would look great as long as it is executed well.
