I honestly didn't give the Islanders a chance in the playoffs this year, but they've proved me wrong so far, and I'm loving it.

The good news: NYI are 1 win away from sweeping the Penguins in the 1st round.

The bad news: NYI could be the 5th team to blow a 3-0 series lead.

C'mon Islanders. Do it. Sweep the [CENSORED] Penguins out of the Playoffs.

Playoff hockey is awesome...as long as your team isn't playing. If your team is playing, playoff hockey is a panic attack in super slow motion.

One of the most nervewracking playoff scenarios is when my team is leading by one goal in a series-clinching game. In the 3rd period, fans are on edge as their team scratches and claws to defend that one goal lead. It's a long, grueling 20 minutes that feels and is much longer than 20.

That’s because it is longer than 20. Time warps in playoff games. In the 3rd period, one second actually lasts 4.17 seconds for the first 5-10 minutes of the period. After the 10 minute mark, that number goes up to 11.44 seconds. B)

This will draw a lot of eye rolls and maybe even some biting reaction images/gifs, but I was seriously thinking about picking Lumbus in both my bracket and my picks in this thread, but I chickened out.

This is absolutely incredible. Where would this rank among recent NHL playoff upsets? Biggest since Halak over Caps in 2010?

I still 100% expect Columbus to blow it.

Being a pessimist has served me well, actually.

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying seeing the Blue Jackets tell me & everyone else that said they had no chance to eat :censored:. 😄

Who had Islanders and Blue Jackets respectively both up 3-0 in their series against the NHL's juggernauts?

Be honest. 😋
