Did anybody else think it was poor form for the Blues to take that shot with the goalie writhing on the ice like that? I mean, I don't blame them, take your chances while you have them, sure. But it bugs me.

It’s up to the refs to stop the game. He wasn’t even hurt bad enough to leave immediately, so the officials made the right call.

and now every other series is gonna go to 7. good. I'm glad.

Seriously, though, this is some great hockey. Now, to see if my "weaponized jinxing" training has paid off... go Bruins.

Why I think the Blue Jackets can force a game 7 and win the series? I didn't think the Islanders, Blues, Jets, Canes and Sharks would still be around for Round 2. The way these playoffs have gone on, literally anything can happen at this point.

If you point out it's a jinx then the jinx is nullified. It's like how you can't tell anybody what you wished for when blowing out your birthday candles.

McAvoy should of gotten a game misconduct and a 5:00 Major, at minimum.  CBJ is getting screwed...

No way. McAvoy initiated contact at the chest. It was a brutal hit, and absolutely deserved a penalty, but the five minuter should always be reserved for head hunting, and he clearly wasn't trying to hit him in the head. Anderson's head was down, which caused McAvoy's shoulder to make contact with his head. Again, 100% a penalty, but he wasn't targeting it..

As is always said here, penalties shouldn't be about a bad result on a hit. The five minuter and ejection is for egregious conduct, not for a hit with a worse result than usual.

I've got a dribbble, check it out if you like my stuff; alternatively, if you hate my stuff, send it to your enemies to punish their insolence!

That is the way the NHL governs in other ways, though. I can’t tell whether it’s hilarious or has a beautiful, ineffable truth to it, but the difference between a 2 and a 4 for high sticking is whether or not blood is drawn. Think about it... a penalty based on the presence of blood! You see certain plays 20 times a game, but when somebody gets hurt, it’s suspension-worthy all of a sudden. Suspensions also become hilariously long when there’s bad publicity going around.

Oh, this is 100% true. The league's handling of penalties is so laughably all over the place, it's frustrating, especially the high sticking thing. I can't remember what game it was, but someone was bleeding from an earlier hit, then got tapped in the cheek, and there was blood on his face, so it was a 4 minuter on what should have been a 2-minute penalty. I honestly can't remember who it was (I only know it wasn't a Bruins game), but that incident is burned into my memory as to how broken the NHL penalty system can be.

Not over yet. I personally remember a playoff game in which a team down 3 came back in the final 8 minutes to win 4-3 in overtime. And the way the Bruins like to have crazy lapses this year, nothing feels safe.

Well I’ll be damned. Tuukka Rask stole a series.

And what a...weird...series it was. I feel like the Jackets played considerably better than the Bruins. The Jackets looked like they were constantly running the table on the B’s. I’ve also decided that Seth Jones is now my favorite non-Bruin player. There’s no reason to not like the way he plays the game. And I haven’t been this afraid of someone like Panarin along the boards on the power play since the days of Daniel Alfredsson. Jackets have some classy fans; great series. Both teams had to beat horrible officiating, but we did it together! Much respect, CBJ fans. Much respect.

As for McAvoy, that hit has a lot to unpack. I’m obviously biased but I don’t believe it was a dirty hit.
