Kyle Lowry will fall to the ground if someone breathes on him.

That's a little harsh. I think it'd take a good solid sneeze, at least.

Likely wouldn’t happen when they only have 4 people that aren’t free agents. Butler is likely out, Harris is 50/50, and reddick will go where ever gives him the biggest offer.

I think Redick either takes big money or a vet discount on a loaded team.

Butler to Houston would be exciting!

I actually like this for the Cavs! Nothing to lose taking a chance on a college coach instead of yet another NBA retread, but not as out there as a Blatt-type choice. First whiff of a medium-term plan that isn’t “thank God that LeBron is from here” in how long?

He was in serious negotiations with the Pistons last June, so it's really not.

He's 66 and this contract is his golden parachute if Gilbert fires him. Don't be surprised if in his second or third season he brings in his son, Patrick, who will start his first year at Niagara this fall so he can get into the NBA pipeline and out of the college game. This is more of an indictment of the last 18 months and the two trials with agents and runners.

I didn't know he had talked to Detroit last year.

The Pistons job was his, but turned it down. He also had a double bypass in August. This Michigan team is going to be preseaon top 10, possibly top 5.

This is the least likely Finals outcome, but how depressing: http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26746618/senator-asks-canada-ensure-kanter-safety

Quote

"I have full confidence to myself and my team to win the Western Conference finals," Kanter told ESPN via text message. "Going to Toronto will be a bit hectic for me for the reasons you know, and I know Senator Wyden is working hard to make sure that I can make it and I really appreciate it

"On the other side, I know the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Justin Trudeau is a good leader and I have confidence in him to help with my situation," Kanter said. "I know this because he's already helping many more Turkish citizens, in the Hizmet movement, who are oppressed by the Dictator Erdogan regime right now."

Kanter has been an outspoken critic of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Kanter is aligned and a close ally with Mulsim cleric Fethullah Gulen, who the Erdogan government accuses of helping orchestrate a failed coup attempt in 2016.

Because of safety concerns and issues with his immigration status, Kanter, who has a green card, did not travel with the Blazers to play the Raptors in early March. Kanter had his Turkish passport revoked in 2017 and has had a warrant out for his arrest in Turkey since January. Currently, there is an Interpol "red notice" issued for Kanter, which could result in him being detained and deported back to Turkey.

"On another note, even Senator Wyden and PM Trudeau does their best, Dictator Erdogan will try using/abusing all his powers to manipulate red notice system through Interpol," Kanter said. "As you know, I am a law abiding citizen both in Turkey and here in the U.S. -- I never broke a single law in my life, didn't even have a parking ticket, but Turkish government cancels my passport... WHY? it's simply because I'm an outspoken critique of Dictator Erdogan. So, Erdogan might push all his chances through Interpol, which I believe he tries abusing it.

"Interpol should not let itself to get abused by any Dictator regime, including Erdogan's," Kanter said. "No matter whatever they do, I won't back down from my fight in the path of democracy, uplifting human rights and freedom of speech."

In January, when Kanter was with the New York Knicks, he did not travel to London for a game against the Washington Wizards, citing safety concerns.

"As President Erdogan continues taking Turkey down a dark, authoritarian road, Mr. Kanter is hardly the only person to face persecution," the letter to Prime Minister Trudeau says. "But without his Turkish passport -- and not yet able to qualify for an American passport -- Mr. Kanter does find himself in a particularly tenuous legal position resulting from being a public person using his bully pulpit to speak out against a dangerous bully.

"I have instructed my staff to work with our administration to ensure that Mr. Kanter could travel safely to Canada and return unimpeded in the event of a Portland-Toronto NBA series," it says. "I urge your government to ensure the same with respect to Mr. Kanter's ability to enter Canada, play in Canada, and then return safely and expeditiously to the United States. I also urge you to state publicly that your government will ignore any red notice against Mr. Kanter."

Kanter is in the process of becoming a United States citizen, but won't have that finalized until 2021.

With the Blazers in the Western Conference finals, Turkish broadcaster S Sport will not televise the series against the Golden State Warriors.

"I can say clearly that we will not be broadcasting the Warriors-Blazers series," S Sport commentator Omer Sarac told Reuters. "Furthermore, if Portland makes it to the finals, [that] will not be broadcast either ... This situation is not about us, but it is what it is."

Terry Rozier just went scorched earth on ESPN, talking himself up and calling out Kyrie, Hayward, and the Celtics coaching for taking the ball out of his hands and suffocating his talent. Boston, if only they had seen the writing on the wall last summer, could've traded Rozier somewhere where he could start and probably got something half-decent in return, now one year later he's their malcontent backup point guard that's gonna leave for nothing (unless Ainge exercises his right to match any offer, but there is zero reason to do that except out of spite).

Are the Lakers getting the top pick? If they do, how much of Times Square will be left standing?

Is there an off-season thread for the NBA? Well, the Draft Lottery is tonight.

The Top 5 are...

1. New Orleans

2. Memphis

3. New York

4. LA Lakers

5. Cleveland

This means that the Knicks missed out on both Zion Williamson AND Ja Morant. Woof.

Oh :censored:...

SUCKS to suck, Knicks!

Glad they didnt gift gift that pick to the Lakers, either.

The Anthony Davis saga just got MUCH more interesting.

This is just what New Orleans needed. I would love to see the odds of Davis staying before tonight and after tonight. Big night for the grizz too, second pick is huge. Big woof for the Knicks, they’ll have to settle for Barrett maybe. Cavs might have the worst night though, they were imo the neediest team in the draft and they have to settle for 5. Garland or Culver just doesn’t ring as well as Morant or Williamson

Ain't no way Zion slips past Memphis. If New Orleans is smart, they take Zion. Maybe Zion can entice Anthony to stay? Probably not, but it's worth a shot.

If the Brow leaves, he can be the piece they build around; a player who will put butts in the seats. Now, they could be enamored with Morant, and they can pick him; more power to them.

I just had to laugh at New York. Hey Knick fans, you'll probably get Barrett.

He's something, right? He's obviously no Zion, but he can play.

I would've been okay with the Knicks getting the too pick if LA wasn't going to get it.

Anthony Davis is going to stay with the promise of Zion next to him. I guarantee it.

Memphis doesn't have a GM or a Head Coach.  Their EVP of Basketball Operations is a 30-year old guy who was their general counsel and has spent time working for Rich Cho, whose GM record wasn't good himself.

No kidding. Second round? GTFO.

Lakers made a huge jump in a one-person draft, so does it matter? Maybe?

My conspiracy theory is that the NBA rigged the lottery to help a struggling market. It shouldn't make a difference -- if NO didn't show up for AD why would they for Zion? -- but as a Seattlile looking lustfully at the Pelicans franchise, I'm now bummed.

And? What does that have to do with them jumping from 5-10 to number 2 they’ve secured one of Barrett, Williamson or Morant. Most likely the latter. Conley will be a great mentor for Ja too, don’t see how their lack of coach and gm, matter right now, they should be celebrating
