For those hoping the Tennessee Titans would dip into their Oilers past, I’ve got some news. Via TitansOnline.com reporter Jim Wyatt, during an appearance on The OTP (The “Official Titans Podcast”), Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk said the team wouldn’t […]

This is why it was so stupid to switch to navy blue helmets.  They should have switched to powder blue helmets or just kept the white ones.

Or they can do the Jets 1994 bit and do a "fauxback" design.

The Titans have a look that’s oddly underrated in just how terrible it is. It’s maybe a quarter step above what Tampa is currently wearing. The last look wasn’t perfect by any stretch, but it’s head and shoulders above their current garbage look.

Is that why? Their identity looks stronger with the navy helmet. Oilers throwbacks definitely shouldn't have been a factor in their uniform decisions.

I don’t think it’s oddly underrated, everyone gives it grief, and rightly so. I’d say it’s worse than the bucs if it wasn’t for the number font.

Since it belongs to Tennessee, I'd be against Houston wearing anything Oilers related.

The Brewers have worn Milwaukee Braves throwbacks.  The Mariners have worn Seattle Pilots throwbacks.

If it can be done in baseball, I don't see why the NFL has to be so different.

I mean, that’s a fair point to make, but I don’t think they should’ve done it either though. Just because it HAS happened, doesn’t mean it SHOULD happen

I stand by my belief that a team's identity belongs to a city and its fans more than the franchise itself, even if I know legally/technically speaking that isn't true. BUT I guess they were the Oilers for a season, so maybe somebody cares enough to see them throw back to that. However, there's little significance to the people of Tennessee to see their team in the uniforms of a team from Houston. Sports is so tied to local culture... I'd just rather see the Texans in Oilers throwbacks than the Titans. I know people disagree strongly though.

Yes, Dan Pastorini, Mike Renfro, Earl Campbell, and the great memories those Tennessee fans have of watching them...

Well what's to say some in Tennessee haven't enjoyed watching them?

Steve McNair and Eddie George wore Oilers uniforms that time I watched them play at the Liberty Bowl.

Is there THAT big of a movement in Tennessee to wear Oilers stuff?  Maybe the Winnipeg Jets can bust out Atlanta Thrashers throwbacks someday, too.
