2019 NFL Season week by week uniform match-up combos: From HOF Game to Super Bowl LIV

NFL dropped the ball here and really this whole 100 season has been crap in regards to unis. And yes they did bail out the Rams by granting them use of the throwbacks in the first place.

I think that’s the biggest thing you can take away from this 100th Anniversary season. When it comes to how they handled matchups and uniforms, the NFL absolutely FACEPLANTED this entire year and gave us one of the absolute most disappointing anniversary seasons I’ve ever seen from any league.

MLB league wide only did the patch but allowed teams to do throwbacks how they saw fit. I sorta wish they had done something league wide and forced teams like the Giants to participate in tbtc which they seem to not like to do. But otherwise they didnt stop teams from throwing back.

The color contrast in this game will be way better because of the 49ers in gold pants. The throwbacks look weird because of the white socks and the chiefs are wearing white pants so there won't be as much contrast if their waiver was granted

I'm surely in the minority, but I wouldn't mind the Chiefs in all red (not that it would happen). We see this standard matchup during the preseason very frequently and just saw it a year ago in the regular season, so I wouldn't mind something different. I can't recall a team ever not wearing their standard home or road uniform in the Super Bowl in recent seasons though, granted many of the teams who have made it haven't really had the option.

I think it's funny how many posts we see about how the NFL blew it with their anniversary celebration by not embracing throwbacks. 

 

I'm pretty sure this site is the only place in the world that thinks the only way you can mark something important is by what you're wearing.

Any shot of a throwback field or a yellow chiefs endzone? Two red end zones would suck.

If they allowed them to use the endzones they used in the conference championship games, that would send this uniform matchup through the roof

The Gridiron Field Database is predicting the midfield logo will get the NFL100 logo on it, the same way the gold shield was used for Super Bowl 50 and the NFL75 logo was used for Super Bowl XXIX.

Looking through the Super Bowl fields I saw something I hadn’t noticed prior. 
 

Super Bowl IXX - Super Bowl XXI all had Orange vs Red endzones without a single repeat matchup.

 

IXX Dolphins vs 49ers

XX Patriots vs Bears

XXI Broncos vs Giants

 

There was never another Orange vs Red matchup again prior or post those three games.

Small potatoes, but I guess no captains patches for KC?  Large patches already on both shoulders...  Overall they seem unessary, and the man of the year patch looks like a creepy little Batman patch.  Sorry Walter...

I never noticed that the Saints super bowl patch was more on the shoulder than the chest of their jersey
