Hara Arena damaged by tornadoes.

Not sure whether to post in Sports in General or Lounge but Dayton Ohio got slammed with tornadoes last night. One of the hardest hit areas was Trotwood just north or Dayton. Trotwood is home to the former Hara Arena, who in the past hosted most of Daytons minor league hockey teams and served mostly as Daytons main indoor arena until the arrival of the Wright State University Nutter Center in 1990. Hara Arena closed in 2016 and has sat abandoned. A Youtube video from an urban explorer last year showed that a section of stands had collapsed inside at some point and the arena in severe disrepair since the closure.

Ouch, hope they will do something to the building. Doubt they will repair the damages caused by the tornados due to it no longer being used.

Hara wasnt the greatest of facilities but it housed a lot of Daytons memories for hockey and concerts. Hara was purchased a short time after it closed by a guy who deals with derelict properties. It was bound to be demolished eventually but mother nature got a head start.

Was that the home of the Dayton Silverbacks? It seems like there were other incarnations of CIFL and other leagues that played there, but the Silverbacks are the one I recall.

It's where I sit.

Yes the Dayton Silverbacks called Hara home for two seasons, as did the Dayton Sharks.  A couple of other teams played their games there prior to the Silverbacks.
