Joking aside, I'm not sure what you mean. Four on an arch would imply a circle, if continued. Both parts of your comment seem to indicate the same thing.

Gotta give all credit to the USWNT. I thought this was the year that other countries (and age) caught up to them, but they were close to flawless when they needed to be, and made it through a tough knockout bracket with confidence. Great tournament.

Yeah 4 on an arch, and then you can add more along the "circle" as you continue to win until you get to 13. That would mean we would all die by the time that happens, but hey, something to strive for, right?

Eh, I would argue that there's probably a point where it gets tacky. When you only have a few, it's fine, but there's a reason you don't see the Montreal Canadiens and New York Yankees shoehorning their championships in like that.

Where exactly that line is, I'm not sure. I'm almost certain it's before 13, though.

The USWNT wouldn’t need to figure out what to do with 13 until 2055, but the Lakers do a good enough job with 16. 

I could be making it up, but aren’t soccer teams supposed to use a single larger or differently colored star to represent 5 titles?

MLS tried that then went back to a star for each win. Italy has 1 star for every 10 titles. Mainly because 3 teams were winning all the time and how do you fit 39 titles on Juve's new logo?

Yesterday was amazing.  Ok, I could have done without the oppressive heat (it was 98 at game time), but everything else was amazing.

I was on a plane for the entirety of the game. Thankfully the in-seat screens had streaming TV so we were able to watch. Half the plane clapped after the goals and the win. It was a cool experience. The woman next to me was watching Meet The Press.

Had France lost to anyone else, you would be correct.   But there is absolutely no shame to losing to these women.

 

It’s “oof” when you lose at home to an inferior team, or a team that is later easily eliminated.  But being eliminated at home by one of the greatest teams in history, that goes on to take it all?  That’s an honorable conclusion to any tournament.

2023 Women's World Cup will be 32 teams.

 

Bids open in October but no word yet if the extra teams means Concacaf will be allowed to bid as well.

Seems far too early to expand to 32, given that 2019 2015 was the first with 24 teams.  32 does make for a well-balanced tournament in terms of format (which is part of why 48 is a hot mess for the men's), but I feel like it's too early to expand the women's.  It also makes it a bigger undertaking, so having such a short bid-to-tournament process for the first 32-team tournament seems like a bad idea.

2015 was the first with 24, but even then, how many people will stop watching after the first week when the top 8 teams obliterate the bottom 8? This feels like Infantino wanting a win because he couldn't get 48 teams for Qatar, and pretending to give a damn about women's soccer by doubling the pot.
