Request for the mods again -- can we merge the two NFL threads? I don't see why we need two, especially if the playoff chatter is more active in the NFL season thread.

I merged them.

Usually playoff threads are harmless because the regular season threads sink into obscurity. This time? The regular season thread just didn't die, so merge it is.

Edit- Ahahahahahahaha Saints!

So people can laugh at Boston losing? But I can’t laugh at another team losing?

isn’t that hypocritical?

What part of "don't punch down" don't you get?

A thing to think about is a lot of people’s happiest moment this postseason will be the patriots losing, because their own team is so bad they can’t make the playoffs,

Yeah, my team is the #2 seed in the NFC, has won a Super Bowl in the past ten years, makes the playoffs more often than not, and I was thrilled to see the Patriots lose. Nice try, though.

The part where you can dish it out, but can’t seem to take it.

Sorry but it’s not a one way street.

Go have a lost decade and then we'll chat about what is and isn't fair.

Ok, all you jackasses that went ahead and penciled in the Saints for the win, AND kept hammering the "Cousins can't beat good teams"... Kindly shut the  hell up.

I take it.... "YOU LIKE THAT!"

I saw, I came, I left.

My team hasn't been to a Super Bowl in 50 :censored:ing years. I think you can take some minor ribbing.

And I do.

If you can’t, I suggest you step away from watching sports.

Don't flip this on me. I've already had to read about how all Chiefs fans are a bunch of amoral racist hillbillies from all kinds of places. So yeah, I'm quite satisfied seeing you freak out over some minor trashtalk.

How am I the one “freaking out” over trash talking again?
I make one little rib at the Saints for losing and everyone loses their :censored:. Because I’m a Patriots fan. Yet if I wasn’t, none of you would have said a single thing, would you?

Meanwhile, I barely said a thing while everyone was laughing at the Patriots losing last night.

I did not expect the weekend to end with three 40+ year old quarterbacks on the losing ends....

I'm still amazed that former Detroit Lions WR Josh McCown is still in the league.

It wasn't pretty, but as a fan... I'll take the win. Metcalf proved his worth and hey, Beast Mode scored as well.

Now comes Green Bay. This will be a tough challenge because it's going to cold and possibly snowing out there next weekend. The hope to get a 3rd round with San Francisco should motivate them.

Yes. Context matters. BECAUSE you're a Patriots fan you're not allowed to say the same things as the rest of us. You win the lottery, you don't get to dump on poor people. Being a Patriots fan since 2001 is the football fan equivalent of winning the powerball.

There's a sliding scale of what's acceptable. Example: I, a Bengals fan, who's never seen my team win a Super Bowl am allowed to make fun of touchy Saints fans (I don't because I've been where they are and I'm able to empathize). You, a Patriots fan, who's enjoyed unimaginable and impossible success, can't say the same thing without looking mean-spirited.

That’s a bit discriminatory isn’t it?
It doesn’t matter what team you’re a fan of, you should be free to rib any team so long as you don’t complain when it’s done to yours.

Hey, the world's foundations are double standards. Just how it is, I'm afraid.
