2019 NFL Season: Super Bowl LIV

But who gets 7 and who gets 8 home games each year? That's a problem. Plus a lot of contacts with stadiums have set minimum number of events and regular season games.

They do that now with London and Mexico City games, and the NFL doesn't seem to care.

I think there's a real competitive imbalance issue when some teams get 8 home games compared to 7 for others, and the bye weeks and Thursday night games aren't evenly distributed.

Go to a16 game, 19 week season. Give every team three byes. You do cut down on total games per week but still increase the number of viewing windows.

Players would love the extra rest. No more than 5 straight weeks for any one team. You can also time it with Thursday or Monday games.

I'm down with this.

I think they will expand the playoffs to 7 teams per conference with the #1 seeds getting a bye.

I wouldn't mind this either. Although I'm not fond of the idea that more 7-9 and 8-8 teams could potentially make the playoffs as a #7 seed,

17 game season, with every team playing 8 at home, 8 on the road, and one neutral site.

Where would neutral-site games be held?  There's only so many London games you can have.

Sure, London, Berlin, Mexico City, Toronto... That's just outside of the US. You could also play them in nonNFL US cities... College football stadiums.

I'm just spitballing... I'm not saying this should happen.  But it does spread the product around without giving some teams less home games.

Not sure there's any non-NFL US markets (or college towns) that have NFL-caliber facilities (and no chance they'd tease SD or STL.)  I don't see the appeal of the Titans and Seahawks squaring off in Norman Oklahoma or Ames Iowa.

The international sites would make sense.  You would need either 1 int'l game per week, or let the season start and end normally, and do two a week in the middle 8 games.

Are there? The holding of one or two London games per year does not come close to taking full advantage of the potential audience there. If we consider that a London-based team would have eight home games, this leads to the conclusion that there could be eight neutral-site games in London.

Right. So eight games in London, then two a piece in Mexico City, Berlin, Toronto, and Tokyo. That makes 16 — a neutral-site game nearly every week.

Over the past four months, we have conducted a comprehensive investigation of allegations regarding Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill.Throughout this investigation, the NFL’s primary concern has been the well-being of the child. Our understanding is that the child is safe and that the child’s ongoing care is being directed and monitored by the Johnson County District Court and the Johnson County Department for Children and Families.

In conducting our investigation, we have taken great care to ensure that we do not interfere with the county’s proceedings or compromise the privacy or welfare of the child in any way.The information developed in the court proceeding is confidential and has not been shared with us, and the court has sealed all law enforcement records.Local law enforcement authorities have publicly advised that the available evidence does not permit them to determine who caused the child’s injuries.

Similarly, based on the evidence presently available, the NFL cannot conclude that Mr. Hill violated the Personal Conduct Policy.Accordingly, he may attend Kansas City’s training camp and participate in all club activities. He has been and will continue to be subject to conditions set forth by the District Court, Commissioner Goodell, and the Chiefs, which include clinical evaluation and therapeutic intervention.

If further information becomes available through law enforcement, the pending court proceeding, or other sources, we will promptly consider it and take all appropriate steps at that time

So Brady gets 4 games because weather deflated some footballs

Zeke gets 6 games for something he was never charged for

Hill is accused of assaulting someone again (his kid), still gets absolutely nothing.

IDK what's a bigger joke, The NFL's playcalling, or how they hand out punishments.

Boston sports are not sympathetic. Tom Brady is not sympathetic. No one cared that he was suspended and they won the Super Bowl anyway. Stop bringing Deflategate up; it worked out just fine for the Patriots.

IF the source, his girlfriend, can't be relied upon to be trustworthy and she's the only other person that was in that room, they would get lit up in an actual court of law. It doesn't mean he shouldn't be punished, but it's not as clear as a video of an elevator. And if there are pictures of the child with injuries and Kansas City cops couldn't figure out which parent did it, charge them both. Judging by that NFL statement they didn't get enough irrefutable evidence to suspend him, hence the last paragraph reminding him of what he's accountable for and who he's accountable too.

There's your key word. Accused doesn't mean he did it. The Elliot case was nonsense (hell you can say any punishment Goodell has handed down is nonsense and IMO he has zero business being involved in the punishment side but that's another topic altogether) but the Kansas or Johnson County, Kansas CPS (imagine the Hamptons plopped onto Middle America and you'll know what kind of place it is) dropped the criminal investigation days after the initial report back in April. I thought he would've gotten a couple games myself so I'm surprised too. Either way, Tyreek and Espinal need to separate for the good of their kids. Like yesterday.

I think Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Russell Wilson should post IG videos of them smoking weed together. Just to see what happens.

Yes, completely ignore the fact I brought up Ezekiel Elliott as well. 🙄

gotta get in you “huurrr bawston fan can’t be taken seriously” somehow.

point is all 3 (Elliot, Brady, Hill) were all accused of something ( with very little evidence to substantiate it) yet only Zeke & Brady were punished.

That’s just ludicrous, and shows what a joke the NFL is when it comes to handing down punishments.
