It would be like if back when the Arizona Diamondbacks or Arizona Coyotes came into existence--- and had a cactus as their primary image/logo.

Or like when the Padres tried to use wave imagery instead of the friar. Lazy. Embrace the mascot or get a new one.

I‘Ve seen no evidence of that. They’re the third most popular team in SD per a recent poll I saw from one of the ticket sites far behind the Rams. And Chargers ratings in SD are less than half what they were during the down years before they left.

According to Nielson television ratings, during the Chargers Wildcard round victory over the Ravens, 3 out of 5 households in San Diego County tuned in.

In fact, the Chargers had better ratings in San Diego than in Los Angeles.

Two years after the team moved from its home of 56 years to Los Angeles, the Chargers played their first playoff game in five years. The rating was not as high (of course) as in 2014, but it still earned a strong 30.7 rating and 60 share Sunday in San Diego.

That means about one-third of the nearly 1 million TV households in the county were watching the CBS telecast, and three-fifths of the homes watching TV at the time were tuned in. (Nielsen ratings do not include out-of-home or online viewing.)

Regular season stats would be nice to do a comparison, as the playoffs are a draw regardless. Maybe they were watching and hoping the Chargers would lose?

The Clippers idea for a color change would be great(especially the stat brought up about red and blue in the NBA). It's too bad that the Chargers moved and had the Clippers(which let's face it, Clippers symbolizes San Diego more than LA) moved back and you have the Padres going back to brown. Oh, what could've been. The San Diego Padres in brown, the San Diego Chargers in light blue and the Clippers with maybe a light blue or teal and orange uni but anything but red and navy/royal blue. Wishful thinking.
