The name was picked in a name the team contest and was picked to represent the cities baking history, being home to companies such as Pillsbury. They also will be called the Doughboys which references the cities military history and Fort Snelling, that is also the reasoning for the army green color scheme. Alexandria was the only team to change their logo, simply updating their old logo. They also updated their uniforms.
