Under Armour basically just says what they can and can't do (because of materials, screen printing, etc.) and the UA design team tries their best to make the players' idea into reality.

That's what they claim, but it seems more like UA get (or give) a few key words or themes, and then basically tie it into the design. Last yr IIRC was basically a retro Grizzlies style uniform. This year was the Jazz. I highly doubt the players input resulted in two heavily 90s inspired jerseys back to back coincidentally. With that being said, i don't mind them.

Especially since a lot of those players saw those uniforms when they were kids and also seeing them today as legit throwbacks.

All of these kids were born long after those uniforms were worn.

The seniors were born in the late 1990s (assuming they're 22ish). The Jazz mountain uniform was worn until 2004. Vancouver Grizzlies uniform was worn until 2000. They were toddlers or young kids, so they might not remember watching the games with those uniforms, but they were alive when those uniforms were being worn in the NBA.
