New black alternates for Marquette:

Not only are these BFBS and completely unnecessary, but they’re also kind of a mess aesthetically. Yellow wordmark & numbers, light blue Jumpman and Big East logos, light blue and white striped side panels, and navy on the waistband and in the MU logo. They’re not awful, but they’re the worst of their set IMO.

I know its BFBS, but I really like this set.  I actually think their white set is the worst out of the bunch.

Yeah, I wouldn't call that uniform a mess, by any means. Could they have done better, with that color pallette? Sure... But it isn't bad

Duke revealed their new black uniforms today:

Not gonna lie, I kinda love these. Only slight tweaks from their last couple of black unis, but they were good tweaks

Couple shots of them in action:

They ended up using black sleeves and accessories rather than the blue in the first rendering, which I thought was a slight downgrade, but my initial thoughts were absolutely backed up last night. This is hands down the best black set Duke has ever worn, IMO. The only thing I might think of tweaking would be the number/wordmark outlines. I’d like to see an additional blue outline to match the side panels (blue outlined in white, outlined in blue)

These are almost identical to Duke's original black uniforms worn in 96-97 and 97-98.  Biggest difference is the names on the back are blue (and harder to read) instead of white.  This is in line with Duke returning across the board to its late 90s (and early 2000s) look this season.

SDSU actually wore the same look around 96-97 except instead of "AZTECS" it read "SDSU"

This is happening for no other reason than an athletic dept employee missing the 90s and Michael Jordan.

JFC

Since at least Kawhi's days (in sneaker circles or the sneaker world), SDSU was wearing retro Jordans on court at a rate maybe only UNC could eclipse. I'll give them a pass here

Although the outline and trim doesn't look quite right. The jerseys come off as a replica.

Finally their retro Js will have a truly matching silhouette.

It's odd but there is a semi connection.

Then again, if the coach was a fan of hoosiers or space jam or bull Durham, would he want related jerseys for his own team? This is a minor league baseball move. What's next? Star wars theme for every NCAA bball team?
