tigerraven
Any news re. this? In past years, we have had a pretty good idea what every team would be wearing...including nicknames on back of jerseys. All I can find is that the Yankees "might" be wearing black jerseys. Did I miss this announcement?
Gothamite
I’d love to believe that they’ve finally come to their senses and scrapped this nonsense, but I suspect we’ll get the press release sooner or later.
hormone
Take it for what it’s worth, but I was at the Pirates game today and the sign where you pick up tickets had all the giveaways remaining and August 29 was kids players weekend jersey giveaway. The picture was of last year’s jersey though.
BrySmalls
Yankees will soon wear black uniforms. Quote When the Yankees visit Dodger Stadium for three games in August they won’t be wearing their road gray uniforms. Instead, for Players Weekend the Yankees will tuck themselves into black uniforms Aug. 23-25.
SilverBullet1929
I wonder if they're just that really dark navy? The Yankees navy can look like black in many instances. I believe there was even a question here of whether the Nationals were using navy or black one time for the Players Weekend so the Yankees might be using that same dark navy as well. Yankees-Dodgers is such a gorgeous uniform matchup and of course we get stuck with this crap for that series.
coco1997
Very strange that we're less than a month out from Players' Weekend and we still haven't seen any of the jerseys or caps.
Digby
I can't believe I'm writing this, but: I noticed the Red Sox mascot was using a Players' Weekend jersey on its social media accounts to lightheartedly troll the Yankees this week. Spot what's unusual about it, though.

lahaye7
*checks calendar* nope not April 1. Guess MLB is out of ideas. If the white unis had black trim instead of silver, it might be ok.
CaliforniaGlowin
NO NO NO NO NO!!! My favorite weekend has been ruined. There goes my hope for a blue Marlins jersey this year. White on white? Seriously? Good luck selling those jerseys. I'm pissed.
CaliforniaGlowin
Are the numbers on the back of the white jerseys going to be black at least?
ScubaSteve
Cut to: A lavish yacht somewhere off the Florida keys in late April 2019 at 4 a.m. EST... Exec #1: "Oh god that player's weekend thing is due in 2 hours." Exec #2: "Ugh. Text the interns. One'll be all white, one will be all black." #1: "But wait why..." #2: "Pass the coke"

Marlins93
Those white on white uniforms/caps will officially be the worst apparel ever worn on a major league baseball field.
WBeltz
How to Kill a *Decent* League Wide Promotion: 1. Create promotion and run it for a couple of seasons 2. Promotion is pretty successful 3. Decide to totally change it and make it the most bland thing possible. This is a really poor move. The fact that the white jerseys won’t have black names, numbers or the teams logo is dumb for people watching in stands. White on silver rarely looks good.
