2019 NCAA Football Thread

Jake Fromm is inaccurate has thrown under 50% completions in the last month and is 50% tonight (10/20).  Kirby Smart had three QBs to pick from and choose the wrong dude*

*-Granted, who would know that NCAA would instantly let one of his transfer QBs immediately eligible but a kid whose grandparent dies has to sit out a year when transferring from GA Tech to Illinois because of mileage limits.

Georgia's offense is utterly ridiculous.  This is 2019 and Fisher DeBerry would have more creative playcalling.

Yeah, this is frustrating because Florida would have beaten them if Todd Grantham just watched some freakin' gametape and got them off the field on third down.

Again, Fromm is inaccurate and that kills their chances regardless of WR health.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure every Gator fan who watched this game realizes that, while LSU probably wins anyway because they're both very talented and well coached, that Florida would've given them a much tougher game than Georgia did. This Georgia team was always a fraud in terms of having championship aspirations. Florida was a play or two away from making the regular season game in Baton Rouge extremely interesting.

Florida needs to be in Atlanta next year, no excuses.

Well then... The playoff is pretty much set in stone with LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma in. The Tigers jump past the Buckeyes to be the top seed and have the semifinal game at the Peach Bowl against Oklahoma while Ohio State and Clemson meet in the Fiesta Bowl.

In terms of the New Year's Six...

-Wisconsin heads to Pasadena to fill in the Big Ten slot in the Rose Bowl to play Oregon

-Baylor and Georgia meets in the Sugar Bowl

-Virginia and Florida meets in the Orange Bowl

-Penn State and Memphis (Highest ranking G5 school) meets in the Cotton Bowl

Of course, this is all my guess...

They need to find a qb because theirs has already said he’s not coming back, whether it’s by going to the draft (he’s not getting drafted in the first 4 rounds so I doubt it), or transferring.

That QB broke his leg in early September and his replacement had already won the job for 2020 with his performance filling in for him. I wish Feleipe the best of luck but this was pretty much what everyone expected to happen anyway.

He was great at Memphis and was probably the best coordinator ASU has had in a LONG time, so that’s actually a really good hire. Not sure how that’ll work out with their program, though.

Either way, I wish him the best.

That's the problem.  He will get millions regardless of his success or failure.

FSU is a job with a clear talent pool, but FSU is a bad job because of management and the boosters who still think they are management.

Norvell has recruited a combined three kids out of Florida in the last four cycles, 2020 included. Early signing day is Dec 18, so he has about ten days to salvage this class. He's a good hire but he's got a tall task ahead of him this offseason.  The OL is a mess, they haven't taken a QB in the last two cycles, and they're on their second transition class in three years.

Virginia is cooked. Badgers up 14-0. Let's see how long that lasts. If Wisconsin does pull it off, Ohio State probably drops to the 3 seedout of the playoffs and Wisconsin gets to smell roses.

fixed.

Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. Sounds like something from a Rocky & Bullwinkle story arc.

Yeah, and Emory Jones looks capable if it's not Trask. The problem is going to be replacing the talent at WR and Greenard.
