I don’t think there’s any silver in there except for the chrome facemask. Those numbers are metallic pewter similar to the helmet. Amazing how Nike can make metallic numerals but not jerseys or pants.

These pants are still pretty metallic, spacer.png

I think those are actually still the old pants, believe it or not. There have been a few teams that have been holdouts on the Nike template (Raiders, Packers, for example), and I believe the Cowboys were on that list, at least for their pants.

Unpopular opinion: Those VT Pro Combats were great.

This looks more Iowa State than Tampa Bay Bucs.

Personally I think the sword is too gimmicky.

You know, it's a shame....if not for the stupid number font, the Bucs can look terrific in their current sets.  If they would've done something less outlandish with the font - the application itself is pretty cool - and avoided the use of TV numbers (does the NFL allow that?), there'd be no need to change these, when worn right.   Pewter/Red/Pewter/Red and Pewter/White/Pewter/White are fantastic, but that number font just eliminates all that is good about these and automatically everyone dismisses them as being terrible, just because of the font.

The other problem with these besides the number font and obnoxiously big helmet logo (that was "cleaned up" but actually downgraded), is that theres too much pewter and on matte fabric and it never looks pewter, depending on the lighting it looks either brown or anthracite.

Then there's the Bucs on one sleeve and ship logo on the other (this sucks for the Lions too) and not to mention the ship logo is botched since it has the mast in front of the sale in the back.

They literally have to, it's the law. Holding the vote and then ignoring what the shareholders want is called "defrauding the shareholders" and is an extremely serious crime that has zero consequences because America doesn't prosecute white collar crimes.

no we prosecute them, we just pardon the MFs afterwards

You might be right, but they look unique at least with those swordpants, like the Bengal-pants.
I think Bucs should focus on 3 colors and remove the yellow/orange from the palette. I think it is poorly executed to pay homage to their throwback-theme

As far as audacious gimmicks go, it fits in as a stripe pretty well. The hilt is a lot easier to ignore than, say, a "BROWNS" wordmark.  The fact of it being a gimmick is more jarring than the appearance itself.  So nice concept at least, I'd say.

I've been thinking about how some teams warrant true clash sets, unrelated to their usual palette.  Main example is the Miami Heat vice look.  Other examples are teams with varied historical looks.  Cavs orange/blue, St Louis Hawks baby blue/red, perhaps even White Sox RWB. Any other good examples? Canucks gold/black/red?

These are situations where mashing them together in one pallette doesn't quite work. Prime example Chargers Navy and baby blue.  That being said, I feel like a creamsicle alt would work with a red/blue pallette swap. The coexistence of pewter is separate question.

Well that didn’t turn out like I’d hoped it would!  Orange pants in a landslide!

I don't know about that but the NFL should have a uniform czar that prevents things like the Chiefs (red, white, red) vs the Bengals (orange, orange, white) from happening. Visually jarring. Happens other times too ie (Seahawks: navy, white, navy vs Bears: navy, navy, white). There should be a degree of separation that is a bit more clearly visible.

In the case below I'd say...

A. Bengals wear black jersey

B. Chiefs wear white pants

Cowboys pants still old manufacturer except for color rush i believe. Previously held out on jerseys till after the toilet collar template was ditched. I think the Pats are on that list too of holdouts unless that changed in recent years.

Drop the handle from the design, and it's 10x better.

And drop the red outline too. No handle and no extra outline and I think I could be swayed.

I just hope they make orange a more prominent color and use red as the accent. Does need to be the more pastel like orange of yesteryear, but it needs orange...that's Tampa Bay and that's Florida.
