Yes, that led to the cancelation of all sports, including NHL for several months.

Well, yes and no. Obviously the Gobert thing and everything around it was the flash point for cancellations around North America, but cancellations in European sporting events was already happening (and had, on an exponentially increasing scale, been happening since the middle of February) and, if hadn't been Gobert, it would've been someone else in the NBA, NHL, or MLB, and was going to descend to that point eventually anyway. In hindsight, and even really in real-time, this was quickly becoming inevitable by that point in time.

NHL becomes the first of the Big 5 Sports Leagues (NHL, MLB, NBA, NFL and MLS) to finish and crown a champion, despite the fact that there were people who said that the NHL should not resume playing when the bubble was announced.

Well, if the subterfuge involved in getting the players to commit to a return ultimately results in labor strife and a work stoppage down the road, then maybe they shouldn't have resumed.

Can hockey people stop the crap about the Stanley Cup being the "hardest trophy to win in all of sports"?

No, it is.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

If labor strife and Lightning Cup wins are going to go hand-in-hand like has happened before, then, sorry but not sorry, I'm rooting for constant labor strife in the NHL.

It's really not. The old Dallas Stars were a Best Team Money Could Buy that was on ESPN whenever possible. Since the bankruptcy, they've become a cult phenomenon for hipsters who haven't moved to Austin yet and irony posters nationwide. I wonder if they've been allowed to do those hysterical jumbotron memes.

Rent free. Bless your heart. spacer.pngoof Speaking of bomb shelters. Atleast now that hockey is relevant in Chicago again, winning a shootout won't necessarily mean that someone died. Hope you enjoyed seeing a warm weather team win the cup this year. That cabbie-beating rapist wasn't gonna win the Art Ross that year anyway. And put some respect on Pantera's name, jabroni.
