It’s probably the Swiss cheese of a defense infront of him that is the majority of his problems. No goalie is god when the defense sucks.

I'll give you that. A lot of other things are debatable. But in terms of defence, I will say that there's issues on defence.

It could just be that Price is finished. Look at what happened to Jonathan Quick.

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion, Price had an absolutely crap November last year then had a very decent season the rest of the way. He's seemed to have stretches of being good and being bad the last few seasons but pinning the last 8-10 games just on him and not also the Hab's defence is not totally justified.

I hope that the contract doesn't totally screw the team (somewhat) and tank Price's legacy, but I do think the term will come to bite them.

I keep getting the feeling that Bergevin signed Price to that largest contract ever to spite his critics, after he got heat for trading some of Subban's best years for an aging Shea Weber, who also has a longer contract. Maybe it's just the emotions of recent bad years of hockey. But it's not out of the realm of possibility either.

Price's contract gets him more heat than the terrible defensemen because the terrible defensemen don't make 15 million per year for the next 8 years. When Price falls below 31st in the league stats, that means for every spot he drops below 31, there's a backup goaler (who likely makes 500K a year) is playing better than Carey. Besides the occasion good game once in a while, for the most part his performances haven't reached expectations at all.

In Price's defence, it's not his fault someone offered him 100 million dollars for being below average. It would be tough for anybody to turn down 100 million dollars lol. The argument could definitely be made that some issues lie deeper than just goaltending.

Will bite them? It already has, unfortunately.

Can anyone tell me what happened to Tampa Bay?

How did they go from having one of the best regular seasons in NHL history, to being mediocre as hell?

Are they still suffering PTSD from the Columbus series?

The same reason the Flames went from being the best in the West to likewise being shaky and inconsistent: either they overachieved hard last year, got exposed in the playoffs in a big way, or both.

This isn't the first time with this head coach and this core where the team basically didn't give a damn for the first quarter of the season. They got away with it in 2016, not so much in 2017.

Same old story as all around the NHL: the hockey team is the loss leader for a master lease on a building that has a loaded schedule of revenue-generating concerts, ice shows, political rallies, and other events, plus they receive generous taxpayer subsidies. Plus, hockey players are actually big whiny babies (now more evident than ever as everyone took turns crapping on Mike Babcock for giving them the sad-sads), they love hiding in plain sight in the endless suburban sprawl of Fort Lauderdale where no one can recognize them at steakhouses and strip joints.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Man what'd this guy do to be too unprofessional for hockey?

If it was an arrest, we'd know about it.  Jim Nill said it had nothing to do with the new Four Points, but it was with a Stars employee.

Sent lewd pics to Victory E. Green?

How in the hell does Florida keep their team? Watching the Jackets-Panthers game and the seats are empty. Makes no sense to me. Send them to Quebec and welcome back the Nordiques.

Expansion in the early 90's should've just been San Jose, Tampa Bay & Anaheim. Seattle & Milwaukee were supposed to as well but "things" happened. I nice tidy 24 teams with expansion to 28 later on.

Taylor Hall has seriously had the weirdest goddamn career and he's not even 30. #1 overall pick to Edmonton, gets labeled a bust, misses the playoffs for his first 7 years, gets traded to New Jersey for a second pair defenseman, drags a marginal Devils team to the playoffs, WINS THE LEAGUE MVP, gets traded to Arizona 18 months later for picks, is probably gonna make > 10 million for the team of his choice after the season.

Were people calling him an outright bust or just passed up by Tyler Seguin? Yakupov was a bust.

I think dummies were calling him an outright bust, but a lot of people were lumping him in with Nugent-Hopkins.

I forgot to mention his ridiculous track record of playing for the team who wins the draft lottery. It happened 5 times!

So I decided to sit down and watch the Sharks game tonight. First time I’ve done that in a really long time.

Shoulda just gone with my original plan and drilled wood screws into my feet.
