Yeah, between this & whatever he did with the Red Sox, Corra is so :censored:ing screwed.

Red Sox should try & save face by firing him (or convincing him to resign), but they won’t.

All part of the setup needed for Bobby Valentine to make his long awaited return as the rightful manager of the Red Sox.

Manfred:

Quote

“I base this finding on the fact that the club’s senior baseball operations executives were given express notice in September 2017 that I would hold them accountable for violations of our policies covering sign stealing, and those individuals took no action to ensure that the club’s players and staff complied with those policies during the 2017 postseason and the 2018 regular season."

So you are also complicit in this huh, Rob?

True, though I would think the suspensions would carry over should either get another job in MLB.

It’s effectively a lifetime ban. Nobody is going to hire either one knowing they have to sit out a full year before taking over.

Both can appeal later, but it’s going to be at least two years before either can even think of coming back.

Remember what happened to the card-counter in Casino?

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Orioles GM Mike Elias has also been suspended for a year for his actions with the Astros.

I can see Hinch getting hired by some terrible team, and everyone having endless redemption arc narratives circa 2023 or so. Can't see anyone giving Luhnow a meaningful job again, now that's baseball's Wolf of Wall Street.

Where did you see this? I haven’t heard anything like this as of yet.

Cora may possibly lose his job as there's a report that Boston stole signs en route to the 2018 World Series title.

I'm surprised Boston has fired him already.

The only reason MLB hasn't announced anything with for Cora yet is because he is still under investigation. There's no chance his punishment isn't at least on par with what Hinch received.

I don’t get how this is a slap on the wrist. What more would you want them to do? 2 people have essentially been banned for life possibly, another probably on the way, 4 high draft picks are being stripped and they got fined the max a team can be fined.
