Another upcoming season, another unfulfilled wish that the Dodgers will finally fix their numbers and use the proper thicker variant (or go back to having a white outline). Their uniforms will never look right to me until they fix this. (Their near identical AL twin the Royals have proper numbers).

Never liked the white outline. Then again, I like how “plain” the Dodgers’ jersey is. Just lose the piping on the Los Angeles jersey (and pants)...and stop wearing the road alt so much!

I've got a 1980s-era Dodgers jersey with the white outline and it makes the numbers look so much better because there's a proper thickness to them. (Despite being a white outline, it's still visible against the white jersey). I think the outline was removed sometime after 1999. I noticed the numbers became much thinner after the short-lived NNOB experiment.

The third pic in your signature is actually the thicker variant I was referring to. The Royals use it (or they fake it by having a color-matching outline). Either way, I think that looks much better than what the Dodgers have now.

Can't agree with you more. Hate the Dodgers road jersey because they look kinda replica-ish without the white outline. It looks unfinished and cheap.

My only problem with that set are the silver outlines they added and the Dodgers script on the sleeve.

Aside from that, the Dodgers are better off with the white outlines.

I actually prefer the Dodgers’ roads without the white outline. Sans-outline looks like classic Koufax-led Dodgers to me:

Now all they need to do is drop the grey alt they’ve clung to lately and go back to the “Los Angeles” script road they’ve left behind, and they’re set again.

The white outline looks tacky and pointless. The home script doesn't need an outline, and neither does the road.

Yeah - if anything, the white outline makes it look replica and "cheap".

Still not as bad as the blue buttons and unnecessary headspoon.

I like the Dodgers' current "alt" road uniforms (they seem to wear those more than the "Los Angeles" version) with just "Dodgers" on it, with no outline. It looked good in the mid-70s, and it looks good now.

If anything, they should get rid of the "LA" logo on the sleeve because that's unnecessary. That's the only change I'd make to it.

I'd find the white outline much more tolerable if the red numbers had a white outline too.

I also prefer the Dodgers version to the Los Angeles one.  Not big on two-word scripts with a tail.

I'm fine with teams having their team name on the road. But it's also highly dependent on the "character" of the team. I don't like when region-named teams do it, for example. Even if teams like the Rangers have a history of doing this.

Second bump, but im guessing not much will happen considering this will be the final season until the Nike rebrand.

Damn, end of an era. Things got a little weird in the end with the Flex Base that made pinstripe uniforms look like they had diapers in the back but for the most part, Majestic were pretty solid. Never fell for the piping phase of the 2000s that plagued every league in the world, only used that for Sping Training.

Probably lots of throwback stuff for the 150th Anniversary. Probably new alts as well.

Plus the Marlins change.

Was the Nike deal even finalized? We heard about UA backing out and Nike swooping in, but not that anything was officially signed or announced.

You're right - there was never any public announcement, just a whole lotta "report:"s.

We honestly don't know what's going to happen after next season.

Does a new manufacturer even have any affect on redesigns? If a team wants a change it'll change.

I don't have the time, but I'd love to see if there's a noticeable lack of changes before the final year of a league-wide deal.
