MattMill
Jersey ad patches kind of get mixed in with some of the other anniversary and team patches. Keeping them on the shoulder would be ideal. But a helmet ad? Crazy that I've never seen that before. The one time I can take solace is when teams are up to bat and I don't have to see the new era flag. I'm surprised the helmet manufacturer doesn't want their logo somewhere on the helmet. Everyone wants their cut. I will say, I can't even make out the logo of the MGM resorts, nor the patch on the Yankees. As long as they stay indistinguishable, let them make a mockery on their own dime

They should have gone with the DC cap logo as the primary. Maybe without the gold beveling, but that with the curvy Nationals script looks solid to me. MOD EDIT I know the W has historical connections but nobody really thinks about those teams anymore. It should be time to leave it in the past and create their own identity. Marlins93
I'm not in love with that Nationals BP jersey. The angle is atrocious (but could easily be fixed), but I don't find the blue lettering with red outline to be very pleasing to the eye, particularly how they have it executed there. Quite honestly, I'd like to see the Nationals adopt the Twins color scheme (with gold), thus freeing the Twins to do something else.

Bill0813
The Orioles have done the MD flag jersey the last two seasons. I know that last year they wore the black flag jerseys on a Saturday. Traditionally, Saturday has been the day for orange jerseys, so my assumption is that will be what they will use this year. The contrast of the home jersey having the chest logo and road jersey having the "Washington" wordmark is very nice, in the classic Yankees / Tigers / Reds tradition. RoughRiders99
Are there any merit to this? If it truly was intentional, then wow, kudos. If not, then a happy accident? What do you think? I think it’s a little of a stretch, but a happy coincidence.

I can't think of many (if any) dual-piping jerseys that didn't look like fashion jerseys. Single piping or in rare cases (Braves for example) triple piping is the way to go. The W is a horrible chest logo. It was clearly never designed for that application. The DC is a far superior chest (and cap) logo, but I don't hate the curly-W on the cap. The low-number is inexcusable and looks like a lot of the rec-league jerseys I see around here. I'm not sure who thought that the lower right was a good place for a number - it really doesn't make any sense. 14 minutes ago, Gothamite said: This year, maybe. But next year.... It really needs to be. It looks a million times better than the idiotic one they have now. I'd even say they should make the script on the away version navy as well. One more thing they need to do is scrap the Radom numbers. They were fine with the original design, but really clash against the script-based ones. Just go with standard MLB Block, or MLB Block Serif, or varsity block like the Yankees and old Expos. BBTV
Yes. The piping works better when it accentuates the design. Plain piping makes the detailed wordmark or script the focal point, while still adding some nice detail and making it look like a "finished" design. Numbers are the same way. If you have an ornate wordmark, then plain numbers/NOB are the way to go. Stylized numbers either create two focal points (if the numbers are not the same style as wordmark) and lessen the impact of all design elements, or (if the same style as the wordmark) blend in and... well, lessen the impact of all design elements. I think it's the same way with NFL uniforms, and is why basic one-color block (or at least non flashy) numbers work so well for teams like the Steelers and pre LOL-era Browns. Go ahead... cosign this one too. "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed."
