That's what gets you the awful yellow monstrosities they created for the away version of their fauxbacks that would have never been created even by the most outlandish sports uniform designers in the 1970s. But I've long said that the fauxbacks can be the base design of a redesign that more efficiently utilizes all three team colors.

There isnt enough contrast with just light blue and gold. The navy needs to be there, even just to provide some separation.

Just a thought... anyone ever realize they actually had 2 of that mid 00s green set? 2001-04 it was green but heavier on the black and 05-07 it had more emphasis on the green than the black but now with a little more touches of blue. The jerseys and wordmarks also were tweaked a bit as well. Just sayin because I think a lot of people forgot about this.

AstroCree
Those 2000s sets were underrated but they fall to obscurity because the team was super irrelevant.
BBTV
Unpopular opinion but I don’t see any redeeming qualities in the green set. It was a drab, dreary-looking set with a terrible lettering font. Forest Green, Royal Blue, and black don’t mix particularly well. While those white outlines may have improved the look, there’s no getting past the dated font and the lack of bright accents. The green would have been a good starting point, but after that, no thanks. MLB: Project 32 (Complete), MLB: The Defunct Saga (Complete)
BBTV
OMG those outlines. How the hell is this popular, other than that at the time, their OG uniforms were ridiculed relentlessly? Stu-BallsOmnicorp
The Rays have never really had a uniform that I'd consider great or even particularly good. I will say though that I felt they upgraded when they unveiled their current look in 2008. I also carry the unpopular opinion (at least on here) that the ray of sunlight is better than the manta ray in terms of the nickname Rays. The manta ray always feels a bit minor leagueish to me. _DietDrPepper_
Orioles, Tigers (Head logo), Marlins, A’s, Washington, and Royals are all possibly better than their actual caps Follow the NFA, and My Baseball League here: https://ahsports.boardhost.com/index.php
AndrewMLind
Hear me out... the Rays with Tulane’s color scheme. A blend of the above-mentioned green era and the current light blue.
FiddySicks
I’m honestly not understanding the love for the A’s new BP cap. It’s a cool idea, and any time they can use the elephant more is good, but better than their actual caps? Not seeing it at all. In fact, the last elephant logo they used on a BP cap (the current sleeve logo) is a WAY better logo. I don’t hate the BP logo they’re using this year or anything, but it’s sort of meh if you ask me. If I didn’t know what it was and wasn’t versed in the A’s history with the elephant, it would probably take me a bit to figure out just what it is from any distance. It also bugs me that they’re going green and white and just completely omitting the gold while they still have it on the rest of the uniform. I get it’s meant to be a bit of a throwback look (as was last year’s cap), but I’m just not feeling it. (well I guess it was more royal blue, not light blue) And a lighter green would look great. Navy, light blue, and light green, and maybe a little yellow would look great, I think. This seems palette (without the mid-blue) seems perfect for the Rays. http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/253713922015/NCAA_Womens_Final_Four/2015/Primary_Logo Smart is believing half of what you hear. The fonts aren’t particularly outstanding, and I wish the Rays would use more bright secondary colors. That’s why I’ve come around to the 1998-2000 Rays a little, because the bright gradients worked well in the dark venue. AndrewMLind
Yeah, the Tortugas are great. Essentially remove black from the early-2000s jerseys, make light blue more prominent and lighten up the green. The Rays are interesting, though. I didn’t like the green set at the time, and initially thought the switch to navy and light blue was great. It was probably a mix of light blue being my favorite color and the success the team had right after the change. But the further we’re removed from it, I find myself wanting the green to return in some way.
