B+. Definitely an upgrade. But could have bee better.

Don't like:

- Same wordmark on home and alternate

- Mixing in royal blue in the sleeve logo

- The sleeve ball logo

- The wordmark on the navy jersey has a black? outline. Would have looked better with white.

- There is no Navy cap with Yellow bill.

I do like:

- The navy/gold colors they chose

- The barrel inspired number font is fantastic

So, on MLBshop.com they have the pinstripes listed as the home and the cream as alts.

Now THAT I don’t like. Sure, the Brewers have a bit of a history with pinstripes, but that was always more of an AL thing with them. That cream jersey looks MILES better than the pinstriped jersey. Plus, the team that’s probably their biggest on field rivals wear blue pinstripes. Why would they want to match them rather than have their own look with that awesome, unique looking cream jersey?

The pinstripe uni is excellent, IMO and better than the usual MLB pee-stained cream jersey.

When you have a white element in the hat paired with a cream jersey, it looks terrible.  The Mets' and Giants' cream jerseys (over the years) looked okay because the hats had no bright white element.

This new set is way better than the old one. Love the navy alternate...new font is pretty incredible.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Personally I always found the BiG to be the most overrated logo in sports, but if the fans want that go right ahead, the new one cleans up a lot of the issues I had with the old one. I am one of those who actually liked their previous look, but this is a really great update. The fonts are very good and that Milwaukee script is beautiful. Love that thick striping on the cream, that jersey is so much better than the pinstripes.

Logos are solid too, I’d rather see Beer Barrel Man as a sleeve patch but the Barleyball is a nice logo. Just don’t understand the need to shoehorn the royal blue in there

A few nitpicks

1) Why are the Away stripes thinner? Should match the cream.

2) That yellow panel cap is horrendous. The most they should use yellow is on the brim. Otherwise, keep the crown navy

3) In my ideal world, that nice serif M gets a barley stalk underline and evolves on the previous cap logo. Nic tribute to literally all of Milwaukee’s baseball history except the BiG era.

EDIT: Hadn’t seen that the Milwaukee script has a black outline. Head scratcher, it seems like hat would have been the perfect place to include the forced royal on a jersey

Definitely navy outline on the navy jersey. Basically an invisible outline.

1) That rivalry is not reciprocal, therefore it ain't worth sweatin'

2) As a Cubs fan who wants the Brewers back in pinstripes, I've always rationalized it by the Yankees and Red Sox both employing navy blue

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Is this a Bernie exclusive? It's nowhere to be found in the announcement, website and/or MLB Shop...

Well, the padres didn’t do their camo at their unveiling and the brewers love to have redundant jerseys, so I’d expect this as well.

Shut up. Not you, personally, GottaDeal, but them. They should shut up.

I'm not crazy about it yet. It's a whole set of half-measures: navy blue AND royal blue, cream AND pinstripes, arched letters AND a cursive alternate script. But trying to please everybody has been the Brewers' m.o. since 2007 or whenever they started re-embracing the throwbacks. It's still much better than the Times New Roman set, but I don't love it like I would have loved royal blue and a commitment to pinstripes at home. I don't understand why the Wisconsin logo needs a brick-and-mortar pattern, seems too clever by half. Milwaukee isn't the only city with brick buildings.

This is basically where I’m at as well. Instead of wading through the rich history of Brewers baseball and selecting only the two or three best flavors, this identity is the equivalent of getting EVERY flavor of Brewers baseball and mixing it altogether until it’s a big bowl of visual mush.

They couldn’t commit to choosing only navy blue, so they added royal blue as a token gesture. They couldn’t let go of the modern-wheat era, so they created the new “wheat ball.” They couldn’t simply do a state of Wisconsin mark, it had to be Wisconsin AND bricks (?) AND a “M” AND a baseball for the location of Milwaukee.

It’s almost as if they went through the entire process without trying to make a single decision and decided to YES-AND everything, improv style.

So, why is that? Is that just a personal preference because you like the look, or is there some historical precedent to why a cubs fan would want the Brewers in pinstripes?

It just seems weird to me. Both of the Chicago teams wear pinstripes, and here you have Milwaukee, who you’ve said are basically just an afterthought to Chicago, coming out saying “We wanna wear pinstripes, too!”. It’s just, like, ok Milwaukee. Whatever you say. Now go back and sit in the corner where you belong.

I actually like the barley-ball logo, but as it appeared on the tablecloth in one-color application against the navy background. Does NOT work as a navy ball with multiple outlines on the sleeves of the home jerseys. They should've used Barrelman or, at the very least, the M-Wisconsin patch. The ball should've only appeared in one-color on the sleeve of the navy jerseys if it were to be used as a sleeve patch at all.  Other things:

- The home striping should match the road striping. (I like both home jerseys save for the thickness of the sleeve striping)

- That's a (darker) navy outline around the words/numbers on the alternate, not black.

- The panel cap should only be bp or spring training. I personally am not a big fan of panel caps in general, but this one seems too much. Primary cap would work perfectly. (Also, no need for a yellow brimmed cap)

- The new fonts look great!

Overall, DEFINITE improvement. Which sounds simple compared to the crap they wore previously, but c'mon, we've all seen teams replace "crap" designs with "crap+" designs so that was no slam dunk.

Raglan sleeves on the pinnies!  Love that.

Are the pinstripes actually navy... or could they be royal?  It's tough to tell in the pic.

so the raised BiG looks terrible here. Am I alone? The bottom legs of the M look to be too close to one another. There is really no yellow making it pop.

The outline used to POP.

They killed this rebrand, a really nice blending of eras that feels very "Milwaukee-ish". That said, my biggest gripe is the adjusted BiG logo. It was already a flawless mark as it was, but these arbitrary tweaks really downgrade it. Outside of the M+B serif connecting, notice how the baseball sits awkwardly lower now and creates a weird counter form in the "B".

Pros

- Navy and yellow gold looks better for the Brewers than I thought. I was on the royal blue bandwagon, but these work fine.

- While it's maybe too many, I like all the alternate logos. Beer barrel man is back! And I'm also glad they kept the barley around, even if it's used in their most underwhelming logo.

- The home and away script, as well as the number font, are a huge upgrade.

Cons

- I'd like the subtle use of royal blue more if it was used outside of just the logos. It feels kinda pointless if they aren't going to be on the uniform.

- Not a big fan of the navy alternate. Looks like something you'd see out of college, maybe high school. It's script is nice though.

- The piping inconsistency is an eyesore. It reminds me of the Steelers and their smaller helmet stripe paired with their huge pants stripes.

Overall, I really like these. This makes two great rebrands in just a single month.

That's just the angle, the yellow between the stems of the m is actually thicker than the old BiG
