I'd love it but I really have a feeling they don't want to admit it was a mistake to change (even though they're basically admitting the changes were a mistake). I think they do a toned down version of the current look/stripes or go some Nike BS route like the Jets or Jags (not that either of them look that bad).

I'd hope they don't copy the Jags. That was like a minimalists dream design. Just pull the sleeve stripes back to the sleeve caps, run the pant stripe all the way down and get rid of the college sized wordmarks on the jerseys.

There’s gonna be something. They’ll force something in there that shouldn’t and will look bad. Then we’ll be left pining for them to have just gone back to the good uniforms while some contrarian calls us all old losers who need to stop living in the past despite being older than like 80% of the people to whom they’re referring.

I'm like 90% sure that the Browns won't be wearing anything nearly that faithful to the previous set. I can't remember the last time a team straight-up returned to a throwback. The Bills sorta did but even then the changes were significant.

I'm not a big fan of this characterization popping up a lot around here lately. This is a discussion board right? Not an echo-chamber, meaning maybe some people just don't love those older uniforms. I think that should be allowed and encouraged.

I'm not a big fan of this characterization popping up a lot around here lately. This is a discussion board right? Not an echo-chamber, meaning maybe some people just don't love those older uniforms. I think that should be allowed and encouraged. 

 

There's a difference though between the people who like new and/or different elements and people who literally just say that classic uniforms suck and anything new is good. I'm referring to the latter, here. Discussion and different tastes can be great, but this site also has plenty of people who will hate something because it doesn't fit whatever narrative they're pushing (There are PLENTY of old school contrarians too).

 

White helmet guy a few pages back is a perfect example. He said the Browns need to leave the past behind by returning to an old look. It's some pretty obvious contrarian trolling right there, especially seeing his earlier posts that were uncovered.

That’s every bit as annoying as the “why do you only like old stuff!  Are there any new uniforms you don’t hate?” that’s been springing up a lot lately.

Fair enough, definitely in agreement on Mr. White Helmet. I don't post that to call you out specifically or anything either, it's just a distinction hope that people will make when talking to each other.

This post has just been reported to the moderators, and I'm debating contacting the local authorities and even the Department of Homeland Security over this manner. This is the type of dangerous rhetoric that's completely tearing our country apart, and there's absolutely ZERO room for it in a place as serious as an online sports logos message board.

But in all seriousness I wouldn't be surprised if the Browns just made their Color Rush unis the primary and then used that as a template for the other jerseys and pants. It really seems like that's the direction ownership wants to move in.

@~Bear,I totally agree. I believe their Color Rush will become the new uniform. The only thing I like from the current set is the Cleveland on the chest. I hope they keep that.

I also gave up just because it's so damn impossible to keep up with every single alternate that comes out. You know, some teams used to have only two uniforms they used for the whole season. Shocking, isn't it?

Also, the power users on Wikipedia tend to be anal-retentive and highly unpleasant individuals who base a large portion of their self-esteem on their "work" on that site, because in many cases that's the only "work" they do in life.
