dont care
1 hour ago, hugevolsfan said: The 17 games schedule is a head scratcher to me and will put teams at a disadvantage every other year. Some teams will only have 8 home games & some teams will have 9 home games. Historically the home team wins 60% of the time with playoff teams actually winning 75% of the time on average. That makes no sense for a competitive advantage be given each year to half the league. The extra playoff team does not matter to me because it actually gives the team with the best record the only advantage in the playoffs of having a bye. Apparently every team will have an international game for the 17th game
hugevolsfan
That makes the 17th game even worse for the players might as well do 18 if you agreeing to that mess My Fictional Football League Version 3 My Fictional Football Leagues WebsiteMy Church Website
Wings
Eventually they'll be 18 games over a 20 week season with 8 teams per conference qualifying for the playoffs.

Is it really going to be 8 home/9 road and vice versa in alternating years? Since the NFLPA won't have its 32 player-reps vote until tomorrow, it is still just the owner's proposal. Two-thirds of the player reps have to vote in favor of the CBA, then a majority of the membership has to approve it. It might come down to lifetime healthcare for players for them to accept a 17th game. Holding out on 17 or 18 games is basically the NFLPA's biggest leverage piece. There's also the report that the extra game check for a 17th game would be capped at $250K, so many dudes would be taking a big drop in weekly salary. I ain't even playing, but F THAT. The owners are fast traking this as they want to get the CBA done before the new league year on March 18, and to help get the networks to the table for the media contract. If approved, they are going to play. You think nine guys are going to miss the Week 17 team charter? Or will they all just break curfew or raid the mini-fridge (if teams allow them in rooms) to drink all the booze? 24 minutes ago, AustinFromBoston said: If the CBA even gets approved, it will be fun seeing players intentionally sit out that 17th game. When the game is likely meaningless playoff-wise.

Look at all the cats who played arena ball or are in the XFL at another shot at "The League". And multiple teams could be fighting for the 7th playoff spot. Sure. Again, you actually think guys will miss a team charter or take other steps in order NOT to play a 17th game? For many, if not the majority, that check is already spent, not saved. They will play. If they're looking for a new contract, they aren't going to want to play an extra game & risk an injury. Especially when unless they have the 1 seed, they don't have a bye. And if they don't, the coaches would make them, because again, they don't want to risk one of their starters getting injured. It's silly to think there wouldn't be some minor revolt by even few of these players with how ridiculous the new schedule is. Players are already trashing it. Former players were trashing it earlier in the day. See your mans, former Pats Donte Stalworth and Damien Woody plus big feet Derek Anderson. They want lifetime healthcare. If that is given to them, then they will happily play, hence the C in the CBA as it stands for "Collective".

BBTV
What if it’s a home game? They’re just going to turn the alarm clock off and sleep in? There’s 500 reasons the notion is silly, but I want to be mindful of destroying a minor on the internet. BBTV circa 2008 would not have been as considerate.
