LuvTheNats 178 Posted April 8, 2020 Seeing the garbage Nike throws out there with terrible side panels, gradients, etc. makes me wonder how hard Bucs management fought to have a traditional look brought back. There’s no way there wasn’t another attempt to Nike-fy the Bucs uniforms. Like others have said, it’s highly likely the Rams will look like hot garbage.

mzuern 6 Posted April 8, 2020 These new uniforms look ok (other than the red) when they stand alone, but when including the throwback it ruins them. Its really sad that they went through all of this and then when they are next to the original the original proves how much better it looks. I fell like they kept the throwback as a fallback or safety net

Once a few people pile on, everyone else follows in line. Well, I like these. As long as they don't go monochrome too often this will be a success. well, so much for that. Apparently the mono black and the mono white are the primaries.

I cannot find my post where I jokingly said that we’re all panicking about Tampa Bay looking too much like Atlanta and then the Falcons release all white and all black jerseys and eliminate red from the color scheme...and here we are. I’m a fan of many NFL teams and the 2020 Atlanta Falcons now look as bad as the 2019 Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniform-wise. What the actual eff, Atlanta?

NFLfan10 1,213 Posted April 8, 2020 This new Falcons uniform pretty much incorporates everything people on these boards HATE. (side panels, gradients, matching sock/pant color, monochrome looks, enlarged lettering, etc.) We seriously have a third NFC South team that is now gonna be wearing black on black as their standard home look? UNREAL. And now their white set features black numbers instead of red and the abominable white pants/white sock look. Are you f*****g kidding??? The gradient look is obviously pathetic, but on top of that, it can only be worn with black pants, which apparently are being worn with black socks. That has got to be the most bottom-heavy uniform I've ever seen. Black helmet with red jersey or red helmet with black jersey is necessary for the ONLY black and red team in the league. Such a great color scheme that has poor color balance with most of these combos.
simtek34 1,685 Posted April 8, 2020 So it seems the Falcons will bring back the Red Helmets with the Fauxback Uniforms turning them back into Throwback Uniforms again if the rules change next year. Quote The 1966 throwback uniform has become an icon to both players and fans alike, and one that will remain a staple in the Falcons closet. The throwback decal adorns the helmet and the iconic red and black stripe pattern has been a consistent staple through several historical uniform designs. (And yes, we too would love to have that second red helmet!) https://www.atlantafalcons.com/news/atlanta-falcons-go-back-to-black-unveil-new-uniforms BTW, that article is full of TONS of Nikespeak. It's sickening.
DC in Da House w/o a Doubt 3,647 Posted April 8, 2020 I can't believe the Falcons had their previous set for 17 years! Where does the time go
Beer Barrel Man 359 Posted April 8, 2020 All the Falcons had to do was base their new set off their throwback on the right and they would have had a winner on hand here, but nah. Let's get Nike with it. Mission failed See you in five years.
AgentColon2 2,516 Posted April 8, 2020 I know someone joked earlier about FUBU...but seriously, besides the horrendous gradient check out that familiar font.

WSU151 9,765 Posted April 8, 2020 The guys on Twitter (who were supposedly in the know) kept mentioning that Falcons fans were going to LOVE one of the new jerseys...I'm trying to figure out which one...the throwback? The white jersey that kinda has an early 90s vibe? The black jersey that's coming back?

gosioux76 2,381 Posted April 8, 2020 The black over white and white over black sets wouldn't be that bad, but that number font is irredeemable. But I can't tell if it's the custom font that I hate, or the proportions. They seem HUGE on those jerseys. It may be because the ATL is so obnoxiously large -- it all seems crowded. Speaking of, these would be much better had the put this Falcons wordmark on the front (in a much smaller form, obviously) rather than the ATL.
Echo 755 Posted April 8, 2020 I didn't like the gradient look when Man United did it last season and I like it even less here.
bootscallahan 172 Posted April 8, 2020 From the article: Quote "Silver and gray have also been a part of the Falcons color palate for decades but will now play a more prominent role, incorporated into the helmet decal and the new silver facemask." How is using it in the decal and facemask more "prominent" than when they wore gray or silver pants?
simtek34 1,685 Posted April 8, 2020 Found Two things in this video. 1. At least they still have the Standard Socks where they are half-white 2. The White-on-White on the Logoslicks look less bad with Black Socks. 3. OH GOD NO GRADIENT SOCKS AT 1:12/1:13
FinsUp1214 5,676 Posted April 8, 2020 Well crap, reading through earlier buried posts and seeing the “high-waisted yoga pants” comments about the gradient alt....that association will never be unseen now. I know at professional levels designs are thought through, but why are some designs not thought through enough? The high-waisted yoga pants, the out-of-place silver facemask, the side panel on the red pants that matches with absolutely nothing...I just don’t get it.
