I promise you the helmet will be black or red. Again, Blank made it clear he's been listening to the fans. This isn't 2002 when a team had been wearing a plain-jane uniform for so long and fans got jealous of the Patriots, Rams and Eagles and pleaded with owners for something "kewl."

The overwhelming consensus is fans want something that harkens back to an old era. The unique part is that unlike some other teams where one uniform reigns supreme, the Falcons fanbase seems to be split 33-33-33 on wanting the 60s style, 80s style or 90s style.

Again, I HOPE and BELIEVE these are going to be tasteful and simple but not throwbacks. But white or grey helmets? Not a chance. They aren't going to create an overall aesthetic that's new or deviates from the past.

I'm hoping it's red. Red fits in so much better. I'd love to see some concepts with gold accents on the jerseys though. It's why I'm here. I'm not exactly a photoshop maven like some of the guys here.

They actually did. They've won divisions twice before the change, and almost made a Super Bowl in 1979 wearing the same uniform they entered the league in. People just tend to remember that uniform for those first two years because sports media is lazy when it comes to promoting teams. Dallas is a perfect example. A year in review title ran with "America's team" and it's been used ironically since 1996 by non-Cowboy fans.

Losing an all field goal game to the Rams in a monsoon in their third year is grasping for straws about as hard as you can grasp. I say that as a Bucs fan who used that weak argument for WAY too long before they actually made a Super Bowl.

I still think they had success at times with that uniform but I can understand that the 2003 change wasn't change for change sake, which is what the current uniform seems to be.

Wouldn't be that surprising. Gold fits with what AMB likes to do for his teams. Red, Black and Gold. So that switch from Silver to gold while unexpected by some here, could make a ton of sense once the logo package and jerseys are finalized.

I’d be down for this.  World Emblem did this for a reason I can’t remember awhile back showing their new FlexStyle product.  Looks great, in this medium at least:

Reminds me of ESPN NFL Live intro art. I'm not sure how well it would stand up during a game though.

it’s the same thing as the NFL patch at the homeplate location (front neck) that all jerseys have now.

I like it... but I need more outlines.

ha...touché.  Was just showing this to show that Black/Red/Gold/Silver works, though anytime you get past a 2-color scheme things get more complicated.

I really don’t care if they go with black or red as the primary jerseys, but black helmets are 100% the way to go. As @8BW14 said, the red helmet with black jerseys just looks a bit odd and unbalanced.

Personally, I’d like to see them try and use stripes based on the logo. Shameless self-plug from my NFL concept thread:

I really like your concept.

I would flip the pants stripe so that it widens out at the top so that it would better flow with the sleeve stripe/logo when players are in a 3 point stance.

Reminds me of the 2015 hats (and there was one New Era style that had gold around every team's logo because of SB 50, but I can't find a good pic of a Falcons hat like that)

Edit here’s the Chromflex with gold

And it goes back to their original colors which were red, black and gold, to appease both U Georgia and Georgia Tech fan bases. Although the gold always looked like a last second afterthought.

A whole 2 years, out of 20+ of awfulness

This is probably the worst version of the ones where gold is added. @madsquish concept looks way better.

The problem with these (outside of the Dark Red) is that there's no Silver or Grey....making it basically the 49ers color scheme.
