20th Century Fox no more.

I don't think it's that the Fox brand is toxic so much as there's another Fox company out there and it would be confusing to use it.

This acquisition really should have been blocked.

I am curious of 2 things because of this:

1) Will FX, FXX and FXM get rebranded?

2) Will they go back and re-edit a new Fox-less intro to the older movies that get frequent DVD/BluRay releases like Die Hard and Home Alone.

Inevitably.

Actually one of the interesting changes that happened after the merger is Disney put the 20th century fox logo and fanfare BACK into the beginning of the first 6 Star Wars movies.   They had removed them when Disney bought Lucasfilm and took over distribution of all but the original Star Wars movie. But now (on the Disney+ version) the fox fanfare is back and it feels right.

I assume the Clone Wars animated movie pilot thing does not have a WB logo?

And now the Fox name is out of "20th Century Fox Television".. and so is "century" technically, Disney rebranded it "20th Television". ABC Studios becomes ABC Signature and Fox 21 is now Touchstone Television but without the familiar thunder on the blue ball logo.. it carries over the typewriter font from Fox 21.

Finding pre-2020 material with the FOX name and logo will end up becoming a real fox hunt.

It will still have 20th century fox on them. It won’t change like it hasn’t for any other studio that got bought by a mother company. Let’s stop the foolishness. This is the same argument of the people that thought all the star wars movies would now have the Disney logo.

What about VII through IX?

NBC buried this after it aired once in 1998, and the situation has only gotten so much worse since then. Westinghouse being in there is damn near quaint at this point.

I would argue that cord cutting has made it much, much worse.

Plus there were those phone hacking scandals that led to Fox's former parent company News Corp splitting in half.
