I've noticed with these two adidas kits that they don't have matching long sleeve shirts for the jersey color.... now that I notice it more it gets more infuriating.spacer.pngspacer.png

Umbro actually made undershirts that matched the jersey pattern of Shalke's chest and sleeve patterns last year. Too bad they didn't make them available for fans.

Strange situation in Moscow as Bayern played Lokomotiv in their change strips. As we saw in last season’s winning UCL campaign (only two months ago), they use black numbers on the kit instead of orange as used in the Bundesliga. I’d guess this is due to UEFA regulations for contrast.

But the part that came into play today was when Joshua Kimmich wore a top with a black sponsor rather than the usual orange.

As far as I know, he was the only player to wear this version. I wondered if Bayern considered using this in the Champions League to tie in with the black numbers but that doesn’t explain why he was the only one.

He then came out for the second half wearing the normal shirt and proceeded to score the match winner.

Apparently there's a specific font for the Humanrace adidas uniforms. Manchester United and Arsenal wore theirs, with primary kit sponsor instead, as warmup shirts. Juventus wore there's during a match but used their Serie A font instead.

I've been strangely fascinated by the teams who get custom colorways of templated GK kits, since templated GK kits are apparently all anyone gets now anyway. For Adidas I think Man Utd have a custom one (dark gray with orange) and Arsenal as well (black with white). Anyone else?

It also looks like each round gets its own number on the badges.

I also like when lower league clubs have FA Cup specific jerseys, especially if they are different from the regular team jerseys.

Not only are FC St. Pauli parting ways with Under Armour...

...but they are creating what they are hoping will be the world's most sustainable teamsport collection.

Sustainable St. Pauli to produce its own kit

St Pauli will produce its own line of team shirts and sports clothes from the 2021-2022 season, opting against a major manufacturer in favour of a more sustainable option. "Under the motto 'If you want something done, do it yourself', St. Pauli has set the goal of producing the most sustainable teamsport collection in the world with its own DIY brand," said the club in a statement.

"As no external provider was able to meet the criteria in full, the club will assume responsibility for production itself in future."

It was also announced today that an eventual goal of this new supplier called DI!Y is to produce kits for other clubs. Here's a piece on that from Footy Headlines:

German club FC St. Pauli was unable to find a suitable supplier that achieve its goals for sustainability and others aspects, so it will make its own jerseys in future. Now it has been also revealed that the club would like to equip other teams.

The number represents FA Wins for that club the pic below those lower league clubs have never won the cup. Bolton pic above have won the cup more than once so their kits have number of cup wins on it as do all clubs that have won and number of times won.

Seems like the best place to ask. Anyone have experience with how Errea jerseys fit? I'm a puma/adidas/nike XL and can fit in an umbro XL but prefer the XXL.

Errea fits similiar to Nike, or at least they did when I wore one in the early 2000's. XL should be fine if that's what you normally wear.

Leno wore the Arsenal away kit yesterday due to the color clash possibilities of all 3 keeper kits. Yes, even the black jersey was considered to be too close to Wolves home shirts. The statement that this is the first time that a keeper wore an outfield player's shirt is incorrect because prior to 1930 the only way to tell who the keeper was by having him wear a hat.

Here is the first self-made St. Pauli home kit (pretty classy IMO), courtesy of Footy Headlines:

Along with a hype video, mainly for DIIY:

Quote

The DIIY St. Pauli 21-22 home football shirt has a classic look. It comes with the traditional brown main color and white / red pinstripes. "The aim was a timeless design that also stands for sustainability in this respect".

According to the club, "the red line above the heart as the unifying element of the collection symbolizes the heart of St. Pauli as well as the love of the district and the club". A further detail is the lettering "No soccer the fascists" in the collar.

It was important for the club that the In-House DIIY FC St. Pauli 21-22 shirt also meets the highest standards in terms of sustainability and fairness. The In-House DIIY St. Pauli 2021-22 football shirt is made of 100% recycled polyester. In addition, it is sorted according to type and can therefore be recycled by the wearer. The long-standing partnership with the manufacturers in Turkey and an independent control of the factories there also guarantee fair working conditions for the workers.

BONUS from joindiiy.de: If you have 70 Euro (about $85) and purchase a kit during the month of December, you can have your name on the front of the kit instead of where it says "congstar" for no extra charge. The kit, which is unisex, comes in sizes ranging from XS all the way up to 5XL, and you also have the option for a slim fit or a regular fit.

I ended up pre-ordering one of the St. Pauli kits;I don't know what got into me. I chose "st. pauli" for the spot on the front.

Chinese Super League teams will be required to drop sponsor names from their official team name. Some will have to change logos as a result.

Wow. I did not realize that almost every team has a sponsor. Crazy that they would make every team change now lol
