I would've found room for some clips from Angels in the Outfield, Little Big League, Hardball, Tiger Town, original Bad News Bears, and the "baseball in film" at the end is unnecessary (yeah, no :censored:, dude. I didn't think we were watching actual baseball highlights), but still well done. And now I'm going to have to have a baseball movie marathon...

No shortstops after the tenth, after 11 innings no more center fielder etc. In International Women's Softball every team gets to put one player on second base. Then they have to deal with that. It's quick and stressful as hell.

I get it, it just… changes the complexion of the game too much for me.

the admiral 28,205 Posted May 10, 2020 It's completely illegitimate. I hate it. In an unrelated story, no one told me how ugly Globe Life Field is: It looks like a cross between a community college and a Quonset hut.
SFGiants58 13,640 Posted May 10, 2020 It's nice to see that years after his death, Sir Ken Adam's influence lives on in stadium design.
the admiral 28,205 Posted May 11, 2020 By the way, what's your least favorite team, the Cardinals or the Royals? No one ever says Royals.

That looks weirdly cheap for a building which cost over a billion dollars. SFGiants58 13,640 Posted May 11, 2020 Safeco is the only retractable roof stadium that did it right. Maybe Miller Park too, but that's a big maybe.

It is North Texas so not totally out of place.
the admiral 28,205 Posted May 11, 2020 Welcome to The Bridge Arlington! Thank you for choosing to be part of our family. Pastor Caydon and our "house band" Valley Battle are so glad you're here! Don't forget to grab pastries and coffee before and after services at Uncondi✝ional, our full-service lobby cafe, or check out the Texas Rangers, a member in full standing of the American League of Professional Baseball Clubs.
JayMac 3,660 Posted May 11, 2020 That thing looks like they dropped an airport hangar in the middle of Arlington and put up some random retro baseball stadium walls around it.

I mean it looks like it's made of old weather baloons slapped on to an oversized barn. And to think it replaces The Ballpark at Arlington... Even the Metrodome looked better than that.
dont care 6,056 Posted May 11, 2020 It looks like it should be the cowboys practice facility and not a billion dollar baseball stadium. A glorified warehouse.
TrueYankee26 1,029 Posted May 11, 2020 OFFICIAL GUIDE TO BUILDING A STADIUM IN THE 21ST CENTURY: Take a gaudy suburban megachurch, a little bit of big box store, a teaspoon of baseball diamond/hockey or basketball arena/football field depending on the sport, and you are ready to serve.
