We're gonna experience the day after the MLB All Star game for at least the next 30 days, except no ESPY Awards. Life is gonna be boring. Boring would be good, actually. I'm waking up every morning with increasing dread.

At this point, teams that were planning on logo/uniform changes should just release what they have so we'll have something to talk about aside from this. Yeah, I thought this was overblown a week ago but I was wrong. Eh, I'll take being wrong over being dead.

Thank god for sports video games I guess. I'll have to see how far I can take my expansion Seattle Pilots in the NHL for the foreseeable future.

Maybe I can finally get through the last season and a half of the Sopranos now.
insert name 5,196 Posted March 12, 2020 Lot of video games coming out in the next 2 months. Got time to play them now.
Seadragon76 889 Posted March 12, 2020 Well, thank god for everything else in the world because it's going to be a tough 2 and a half weeks for all sport fans out there. I'm glad that all organizations did the right thing here. This is scary stuff. This isn't like 9/11 where you had time to grieve and then play returned as a way to get back to normal. This is a very fluid situation and things are going to be worst before they get better. I do offer this for those like me that were looking forward to March Madness: It creates one of the greatest what if scenarios that I can ever think of.
Mingjai 1,097 Posted March 12, 2020 I guess it's a good thing I went to those Gopher hockey games over the weekend...

mungojerry311 24 Posted March 12, 2020 Is the MLB season going to go ahead, just without fans? I haven't heard anything about that yet that I know of.

It feels very much like a natural disaster without a disaster to react and respond to. Civil society isn't set up for everyone to stay at home and avoid one another; it all only actually works if we do things like buy things from one another, get money, get taxed on that money, and so forth. I've been coping with a life without sports by watching a lot of old pro wrestling. Amazon Prime Video at one point (and maybe still does) have NBA season wrap-up videos that are fun to watch. I've got some books underway. Until my Internet gives out, I should be just fine. Ish.

Corvus 386 Posted March 12, 2020 Baseball seems like the one team sport with the least physical contact between players, but they should still not play.
GDAWG 1,834 Posted March 12, 2020 NASCAR and the PGA will continue to play as planned: The UFC has been silent on this matter.
BShaw20 318 Posted March 12, 2020 I tried creating a Knicks and Jazz custom jersey with Covid as the NOB and number 19 and it won’t allow me to.
JayMac 3,878 Posted March 12, 2020 It will certainly be weird without sports but I don't think it will be as bad as some are making it out to be. It will be a great time to catch up on other things or maybe even invest that time into a new project. It is a complete cliché but some things are just more important than entertainment.

Krz 2,046 Posted March 12, 2020 As a Baylor fan, I can at least claim Baylor would have won March madness, like how expos fans claim 1994.
