Just as a follow up, the more I think about this color scheme the more I like it:

They have a golden opportunity, if you will, to merge the color schemes of the two most successful and popular Los Angeles teams ever:

Athletic gold and dark royal (not navy) would give the Rams their own unique look, while referencing both their own history and the history of pro sports in LA.

That gold jersey Rams uniform from the 50's is easily a top 5 all-time NFL uniform. And I agree that it doesn't need white.  However I personally like both versions... the all gold and the one with the white stroke around the numbers.  I'd be happy with either making a come back.

Heritage has a great auction going on right now - in addition to classic game-worn Rams and Saints jerseys, there's also a marvelous 1961 Orlando Ferrante Game Worn San Diego Chargers Jersey.

This was the first year of gold bolts.  The blue looks a little too royal to my eye, but that could just be the photo.   I'd love to see this in person.

So much to love - it is unique without being over-designed.  Single gold outlines, gold bolts outlined in blue.  Doesn't need double outlines.  This is a gorgeous jersey, and really should be the basis of their new look.

Of course, Northwestern stripes are kind of pointless these days, with the vestigal caps we jokingly refer to as "sleeves".

How about a shoulder yoke?  The Rams wore one back in the 1940s:

(It's almost a photo-negative of the Packers of that era.)

That would make their jerseys a bit more distinctive.  And if the Titans move away from their shoulder yoke, it would give the Rams an element unique in the NFL.

If anything, that blue looks like the Lions' blue more than anything.

Two new classic Rams jerseys are up for auction over at Heritage.  Maybe we can look at them to see where the Rams could mine some history for their next look.

First, we have a 1950-52 gold jersey:

Well they DID win a championship in that jersey so I’m game.

The California Gold is hands down the best option for them and would set them apart. I hope that's the outcome, just hoping they don't screw it up. It's gonna be kinda underwhelming if all they do is make the throwbacks primary in 2020, as if they couldn't have made that happen when they got the green light.

I’m finding myself more and more in favour of gold as the primary. Just not that design.

I really prefer the Colour Rush jerseys, and think they’ll look amazing with white pants and blue socks. I think that would make a perfect “LA” home look.

I would have zero problem with that.

If they could get away with it, they should make that their away uniform. They also wore a blue jersey with yellow yoke, which I think should be their home jersey.

Wow, Peyton Manning played for the Rams in the 40s?

I am definitely on the gold jersey bandwagon.  I love the uniforms of the 40's and 50's (Bob Waterfield, Crazylegs Hirsch).  Throw in an occasional blue jersey to resemble the uniforms of the 70's and 80's (Jack Youngblood, Eric Dickerson).

Just no yolks please !!!

Well, I wouldn’t want them to impinge upon the Packers’ throwbacks. Which I hear might be sticking around after their five years are up.

I must confess to liking those jerseys in a vacuum.  It's the rounded yolks that I think look bad.
