Delmarva Marine was  originally founded in 1659 by the Dutch in present day New Castle by the name Universiteit van Nieuw Amstel. Over the next two decades, New Castle was handed over multiple times between the British and the Dutch during the Anglo-Dutch Wars and the school operated periodically when it could. After some semblance of stability was established when Delaware was handed over to William Penn, the school began holding classes consistently under the name College of the Lower Counties in 1682. All of the way up to the revolutionary war, the college taught science, philosophy, mathematics, and other contemporary subjects. In 1776, the school once again was interrupted by fighting. Consistent teaching was not continued until 1784, when a new campus was built on the shores of the Delaware River under the name Capitol College of Delaware. The modern iteration of the school began the first marine sciences classes based on the recent explorations and finding of Capt. James Cook. In 1883, the name once again changed, this time closer to the current name, to Delaware Marine Sciences College. This also when sports began as club sports, namely baseball and rugby. In 1922, Delaware Marine was a founding member of the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Conference and began sponsoring multiple sports, such as football, baseball, and basketball. Delaware Marine, or Delmarine, moved to the Division II Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in 1973. In 2003, Delmarine became a university and opened up new satellite campuses in Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia. This led to the most recent name change to Delmarva Marine University. In accordance with the name change, the sports teams rebranded from the Explorers to the Bay Cows as they transitioned to the Mid-South Conference of the NAIA. The current look was created in 2019 when Bailey was given a facelift and the inlined DMU lock-up was updated to the current font.

Here is the football stadium for Border Mile. the original post is updated, but here it is on this page so that you don't have to switch back. As always, let me know what you guys think.

Middle Moravian began as Emmaus Technical School for returning civil war veterans to the Lehigh Valley region, particularly the 47th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, so they could work in the iron plants and mines. The tech school operated into the 70s before it began experiencing financial hardship and decreasing enrollment numbers. In 1983, the school shut its doors. The Moravian Church decided to purchase  the land of the old tech school and surrounding land stretching to I-78. On this land, they built a sister school to Moravian College that provided STEM degrees. The Name Middle Moravian was chosen because it was in the middle of the two Moravian schools in the US and the nickname of Danes was chosen because the great dane is the state dog of Pennsylvania and it played along with Moravian College being named the Greyhounds. Middle Moravian and Moravian College were closely related for the first two decades of their coexistence, even being run by the same president and board of trustees until 1999. However, as STEM degrees became more desired towards the turn of the century, Middle Moravian soon outgrew its sister school by the late 90s and achieved university status for the 1999-2000 academic year. The athletics programs made a transition from the Middle Atlantic Conference, where they participated alongside Moravian College for every prior season, to the Centennial Conference as full members. The mid to late 2000's saw a stretch of athletic dominance in the conference with conference titles in football (2001, 2004-2007, 2009-2010), basketball (regular season: 2000-2004, 2006, 2008-2011; tournament: 2001, 2003-2006, 2010-2011), and baseball (regular season: 2003-2008, 2010-2011; tournament: 2002-2005, 2007, 2011). After multiple failed attempts to be accepted to higher level conferences, Middle Moravian pounced on the opportunity to join AUIA.

Ocean Tech actually began in nearby Salisbury (where the blue and yellow color scheme derives from) in 1907 as a normal school for the rapidly expanding town. The school remained confined to a few buildings in downtown until 1979 when the school was purchased by a few wealthy families who moved the school closer to their summer vacation town of Ocean City so that they could stay in their homes when visiting their children. The curriculum changed to a mix of STEM degrees and it also began an engine technician program to work with local boat shops for student internships and job placements. It is one of the most renowned party schools on the Eastern seaboard with it being less than 3 miles away from Ocean City proper. Along with the move from Salisbury to Ocean City, the sports programs began for the 1980-1981 academic year. The first few years they could only play away games and they played against small universities or community colleges in the area while more permanent facilities were being constructed. This began the nickname of Travelers as they were a glorified travel-ball team until 1985 when the athletic complex that houses all of the sports was built. The sports teams traditionally were average to slightly above average for the most part but would still receive large sums of donations from the rich and famous alumni who were looking for tax deductions. The fortunes for athletics took a major turn for the better when they joined the AUIA and NIL was now a recruiting pitch. Some of the top prospects began entertaining the idea of making large sums of money while partying and playing college sports and now Ocean Bay constantly achieves rather good years, but have failed to win in big games so far, leading to the phrase "Ocean Tech-ing".

Kittatinny Point began as a small all-girls private college geared towards New York City and Philadelphia in 1882 in Sussex County between Wantage and Montague townships. It was closely associated with the colleges who would for the the Seven Sisters schools in 1926 in the Northeastern region, but did not join the group due to them being seen as not elite enough as the tuition was more accessible to lower-upper class and upper middle class families. In 1938, the school became coeducational, 30 years before any of the Seven Sisters. This is also when the former official colors of pink and light green were changed to black and pink. For the most part, men's sports used what ever color uniforms they could find and would sew black or white vulture silhouettes on the front. This led to the nickname Scavengers being adopted along with a rescued Turkey Vulture from the nearby High Point State Park, which they named Voltaire after the famous French writer. Also at this time, the school was moved to the current location in southeast Montague. The construction helped employ workers in the NJ-NY-PA tri-state area during the tail end of the Depression. This is when base of the current stadium was built and it held 10,000 people. During the war the school and the stadium hosted soldiers awaiting deployment, leading to a series of large federal grants given to the school in the 1950s and 60s which led to an expansion of the campus. Along with the increased funding and the population boom of Sussex County since the 50s, the school has grown from about 2,500 to about 7,200. In athletics, the football and hockey team are average to good, usually running between .625 and .750 on a normal season. Baseball is closer to average, with a few years mixed in of poor performances, having never reached the conference championship or the end of season tournament since joining the AUIA. However basketball is by far the best program on campus. Being about 50 miles from NYC and just under 100 miles from Philadelphia, the talent pool is deep and rich. They have built a strong regional rivalry with the teams in the Northeast and a tournament-based rivalry with teams in the Upper Midwest.

Spoiler

This ties the bow on the Delmarva Bays Conference. The next conference is based in the New England region (mixed in with some eastern Upstate New York schools). There will also be a new school added to the Colorado Rivers Conference to round the number of members to 10 and it will make  the league at 50 members shown. I'm really enjoying doing these concepts and am trying to do some stuff on the side to make this league "come to life" as a real alternate reality such as schedules, some stadiums and maybe some promotional stuff for schools, conferences, and the whole league. The teams for the New England-based conference have been drawn out, just awaiting paper to screen and am working out schools in the great lakes region for the conference after that. If you have any suggestions, critiques, or anything else, I'm all ears!

Random question: what are the rivalries?

Here is the football schedule for all of the conferences so far. There are some things to know for the schedules:

          Purple - out-of-conference only availability

Orange - in or out of conference availability

Yellow - rivalry week, same rules as orange but only rivals preferred

          Green - in-conference only availability

          Black - bye-week

         Red/Light Green - Cross-division opponent

          White text - out-of-conference opponent

          Black text - in-conference opponent

          * - cross-divisional rivals

^ - rivalry game locked into that week annually

$ - denotes rivalry game with no locked in weeks

There are 12 games over 13 weeks, 7-9 conference game schedules, only one bye-week between weeks 3-12, week 14 is universal bye-week with week 15 being conference championship games. Every team must have at least one opponent from a different time-zone on their schedule during the regular season.

The postseason is a mix of bowl games and playoffs. There are 25 bowl games, 12 of which are played as part of the playoff.

         - 24 teams make the playoffs (every conference champion qualifies, with 14 at larges)

         - 4 regions based off of the four best teams (Each region is seeded 1-6)

         - Top 8 (top 2 seeds in each region)teams receive first round byes

         - Round 1 is played on campus, rounds 2 and 3 at bowl games, the Semi-Finals and Finals at select           locations

The season begins Labor Day weekend and the championship is mid January (would have been January 17th, this past year). Games can be played Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday (barring unforeseen circumstances).

Elko was the original home to the University of Nevada (then known as the State University of Nevada and then Nevada State University) before the school was moved to its current location of Reno in 1885. Elko would be without a college for 25 years before the State School of Elko was established in the old college building in 1911.  In 1926, the college grew with the town and needed more space. Due to the local high school being built right next to the original college building, the only option was to relocate. A site next to the recently built air field was chosen, just under 4 miles away from the original building via 9th Street to Idaho Street. When sports began playing in 1928, the school was nicknamed the Aviators by sportswriters due to their proximity to the airport and the locals infatuation with the aircrafts that traveled back and forth. Sports were all played at the high school campus until facilities on campus could be built. However with the Great Depression and World War II that soon followed greatly pushed any non essential construction back considerably. Construction for the athletic facilities were not completed until 1963, which led to the school adopting its first officially recognized nickname, the Dometoppers after the nearby Ruby Dome, the highest point of the Ruby Mountains. The Himalayan Snowcock, which that year began being introduced to the Ruby Mountains was chosen as the official mascot after the Government of Pakistan gifted the school a bird after a small group of Muslim students visited the country on a school sponsored trip. The athletics teams were  never much to speak of, except for the baseball team. Beginning in the 1990s, many highly touted prospects played at Ruby Valley, then playing in the JUCO level, to bypass the three-year college seasons rule. The rest of the sports did not see much success until the ascension to university status and acceptance to the AUIA. This has led to physical changes to the football stadium, growing from 25,000 seat capacity to the current capacity, and the area, which was rebuilt in partnership with Elko County and has practice courts and rinks open to the public year round, except for on gamedays.

The RV Wordmark would work great on the baseball Alternate instead of 4 ‘Ruby’s. Also, No ‘Toppers’ Script?

I appreciate the suggestions! For the baseball alternates, I personally think the RV would be too bland just by itself. So, I decided to add white pinstripes. I don't like the shortening of the name to toppers, just because it would be similar to Western Kentucky, so I settled on Domers, which is seen on the baseball and basketball home jerseys. Let me know if these updates should remain permanent or if there are still some more tweaks to be made.

In 1669, a few wealthy men from the Rhode Island Colony who moved to Barnstable came together to form a college based on the Enlightenment philosophies that had begun in Europe, specifically the idea of the separation of Church and State. The student who attended were only wealthy, white men, but it was progressive in the fact that no religious studies were taught by paid professors. This teaching demographic and the lack of religious studies would continue into the 1970s before female students were allowed to enroll and the School of Divinity was started in 1981. Organized athletics did not begin until the 1897 when baseball and football began being sponsored. By 1906, Barnstable sponsored all of the current Big 4 sports. Barnstable is more renowned for their academics and the political power alumni hold rather than athletic prowess. However, basketball and hockey have always been strong programs due to the cultural significance in the region and the teams are known for their scrappy and highly defensive play. Basketball is the only sport to see significance on the national stage, having won conference championships a few times and making deep runs in the postseason tournament a handful of times.

As a part of the first major expansions of the campus, many Boston political families funded the building of numerous halls and buildings. One such was Otis Hall, funded by the Otis family in 1806. The Otis Hall held physical education classes until 1899 when the Otis family funded a renovation of the original building to build a basketball arena that held 15,000 spectators. In 1911, the gymnasium was expanded once again thanks to donations from the Otis family to just under 20,000. Also in 1911, the first football field with permanent stand was built on the land that the baseball stadium now sits, also being named Hyannis Park, and held about 10,000 spectators. In 1922, the stands were torn down and the baseball stadium was built and a new football stadium was placed next to the former stadium, having increased in capacity to 17,000. The football stadium and baseball stadium saw their first renovations in 1957 when the capacities were increased to 30,000 and 12,000, respectfully. In 2012 all of the venues saw upgrades in seating and the building of luxury box seating, decreasing the capacity to the current capacities and upgrading other amenities.

As we are going through the next few conferences, I am going to try to update the early schools to the new presentation template as well as to illustrator files. Some teams will see drastic updates, some not at all. First up is Arizona Southern who I have wanted to recreate a better Coati head logo for the primary as well as simplify the Native American inspired pattern. Let me know what you guys think about both Barnstable and Arizona Southern (in the spoiler below).

After World War II, nearby Tucson experienced a huge population boom. Along with the influx of residents, returning soldiers began enrolling through the G.I. Bill and the University of Arizona was being overrun with applicants. In 1950, Arizona Southern College opened its doors in order to relieve UA and was fast-tracked to become a university within the next five years. In 1954, the school did achieve university status and the athletics teams began playing against other university squads. Due to the lower requirements to get in, local athletes began choosing Southern over nearby UA and ASU. This culminating in the biggest upset in Arizona Southern history in 1959 when the football team defeated Arizona State 14-10 in week 1. After the 1959-1960 season, ASU and UA pressured the state legislature to disband the athletic programs at Arizona Southern, ending in a $11.5 million payment (over $114 million today) by the two schools paid to Southern and an additional $1 million to the Border Conference to release Arizona Southern from conference obligations. The agreement barred university sponsored athletics for 50 years at Arizona Southern and allowed immediate transfer of athletes to other schools along with immediate eligibility, many of whom transferred to Arizona and Arizona State. Just before the AUIA was formed, Arizona Southern was able to begin playing, however, the school opted to wait a few years until proper renovations could be made to the facilities that had laid vacant or rarely used for the past 50 years. The 2012 season saw the first play of official Coatis athletics since 1960.

All of the venues were constructed prior to the athletics hiatus, the oldest being the baseball stadium having being built prior to the construction of the school in 1926 and being named after the nearby Honey Bee Canyon. The football stadium and arena were completed in 1953 and all three venues have experienced expansion and contraction in capacity and improvements in amenities to achieve the current capacities. The uniforms are all inspired by geometric Native American art patterns and the football, basketball, and baseball teams honor the pre-hiatus teams by wearing throwbacks for select games against select teams (most commonly rivals). The colors have always been copper and gold, however football used to use metallic gold instead of athletic gold like all other teams.

I would do a striped end zone, however Deseret has a striped end zone. Since both teams use 7 stripes prominently in their design and similar shades of blue I wanted to differentiate them as much as possible. I will definitely try the warning track, though. That sounds like a great idea.

If this football version had a rivalry week who would play who?

So I have actually been working on a schedule for football and there is an allotted rivalry week. Most schools rivals for this week are in-state or in-conference games who are geographically close. Some schools have cross border rivalries similar to Florida-Georgia, Michigan-Ohio State and those might also cross conference rivalries as well. Currently the conference schedule for all conferences revealed so far are set in stone and non-conference games are going to be finalized once all of the conferences are designed and shown. More information on the football schedule and the organization can be found in the 3rd spoiler of the Kittatinny Point post.

I will say, that new coati logo is a testament to how much your skills have improved since you started this project. Good updates, and Barnstable is probably my favorite so far. It’s always really fun to see newer designers get into their groove, keep up the good work!

I appreciate the comment. When you commented on my first Coatis logo and said how difficult it was to create a realistic yet not awkward logo of a coati, it really had me turning my gears to find a way to achieve such a logo. So coming back 18 months later to create a logo does such a thing, especially coming from you when you really helped the beginning of this series means a lot.

The story of Cadillac Narrows began in the early 1900s John Rockefeller, Jr, who vacationed in Bar Harbor and helped develop and build the carriage roads in Acadia National Park. John's third child, Nelson Rockefeller, was born in Bar Harbor and despite his parents seeing success in his future was a problem in school and lagged behind academically. Fearing his son might not get into the more prestigious colleges, John decided to create his own. Bar Harbor was chosen for its secluded location and John hoped it would keep Nelson out of trouble. Ultimately, Nelson got into Dartmouth and didn't need Cadillac Narrows to get into college. The school began classes in 1924 and was able to survive the Great Depression thanks in part to the support from wealthy vacationers, like Rockefeller. Due to the schools proximity to Acadia National Park the school has become a leader in environmental sciences and conservation. In 1969, the College of Human Ecology broke off as an independent college as Cadillac Narrows went from private to public and rebranded as the College of the Atlantic. The name Sonrisers is a mix of sunrise and the fact that the school was started to put Rockefeller's son into college.

There is no Cadillac car, however, there is a cross-conference rivalry between Cadillac Narrows and another school connected to Antoine Laumet called the "Cadillac Clash".

Cannon began as a plan-b option when the state of New Hampshire lost the case to acquire Dartmouth College in 1819. The school began classes in 1824 as Littleton College of New Hampshire as the only public institution in the state and was attended my mainly students from Vermont and New Hampshire. In 1868, New Hampshire College began classes in Hanover and the state legislature removed the public funding from Littleton College. Due to this, the college was moved south to Franconia when the name was changed to White College after the White Mountains. In 1982, the college reached university status and the name was changed after some feared the connotations of the name, especially due to the skewed demographics of the college. The school chose the name Cannon University and began sponsoring sports, choosing the nick name "Old Men" after the rock formation of Cannon Mountain.

In sports, Cannon is a one-trick pony. They have been a force in conference play in football and at times have been in contention for a national championship. Basketball and hockey  are perennial bottom of the barrel  teams and baseball is rather average. Something that all of the teams do is once a season game where they wear their

Granite-Stater uniform.

also maybe have a Stone Statue that Fires Cannons for The Old Men. It’s a fictional school, we can have a little fun.
