pelicanfan 1,390 Posted November 16, 2020 The big orange stripe and thin white stripe being the center of attention just makes it look way too similar to the Clippers throwbacks. they should have figured something out with the colors or stripe size idk
d11king 259 Posted November 16, 2020 I’m speaking for myself, I don’t think there’s a single city jersey I don’t like (Boston’s is super lame) and I am very pleased with the city uniforms this year. Seems like they’re starting to get it! (Except Boston)

ThunderCeltic 79 Posted November 16, 2020 Now sure what to think of the new Thunder edition. It's supposed to honor State Pride. I can imagine what the earned will look like. What kind of a stretch is that? Also I really don’t know why, but I’m getting gas station branding vibes from it. Maybe it’s because it’s also got NASCAR vibes and I’ve just blended the two vibes together over time, but yeah. EDIT - Okay, not the same colors but this is what I’m getting at:
Krz 2,037 Posted November 16, 2020 Thunder is pretty close to perfect. If they had a different font and changed the black to brown it would be beautiful.

El Scorcho 433 Posted November 17, 2020 I think the championship banner jersey is a great concept for a franchise like Boston. I think OKC looks pretty good with the NASCAR style. It's a totally different aesthetic to the Braves jerseys. I'll need to see Miami's on court, but I don't mind it. If it looks dull it'll look garbage. A design like that really needs to be bright. It'll probably be popular as a replica.

Combine that with the bright colors and italicized fonts and it screams stock car design. I honestly have a hard time believing that the connection to racing was unintentional here.

A connection to racing would be strange, considering that the nearest tracks are Texas and Kansas and an Oklahoman has never won a Cup Series race. But I definitely see what you (and others) are talking about regarding its resemblance to stock car design.

Yes that's right, Ball Arena and PHX Arena. Better than “Talking Stick Resort Arena.” Denver could have done better though, not the greatest follow-up, behind “Pepsi Center.”

Ball Arena is named after the canning jars and I can't possibly imagine a reason a canning car company needs to increase its brand awareness.
