EvilChameleon 191 Posted November 29, 2020 So far I have... The "A" is from the Nirvana logo. The second "L" is from The Beatles logo. The "D" might be from the Pink Floyd logo. The first "E" is from The Who logo.
dannykraft 445 Posted November 29, 2020 Not a fan of the cavs having 2 black uniforms in the rotation.

There have been some great looks to come out of this wild new era of NBA jersey design, but man do you have to sift through garbage for them.
pepis21 2,072 Posted November 29, 2020 It look like a ransom note: Anyway they've got this unused 1997 ASG jersey with guitar: Why they didn't use it as an inspiration?
pelicanfan 1,178 Posted November 30, 2020 Feel better looking at it now that I see some people explaining the inspiration. But it's still an absolute no for me. It's like in a cross between an artistic font and a normal font. And then the number font just throws everything off

Shadojoker 1,701 Posted November 30, 2020 Cleveland city uniform is sooooo lifeless its sad. Creative meeting was like.. I'll let you guys fill in the blanks but the most logical decision probably got thrown out in favor of this Dumpster fire jersey.

Digby 6,092 Posted November 30, 2020 Ah yes, those famous Cavs supporters in Nirvana and the Beatles.
SFGiants58 13,579 Posted November 30, 2020 It looks like one of those “band logo” banners. ...but it’s not a teenager doing it, therefore it’s more cringe-inducing.
Igor Coelho 225 Posted November 30, 2020 Although the number has the same layout as the standard jersey, they customized with a scribbled texture. Definitely cool. I hope you guys are enjoying the leak session. I know some of you follow me on Twitter or Instagram. I'm looking for more information. The jocktag with the phrase "long live rock" like the Hall of Fame pleased me a lot.
Krz 1,968 Posted November 30, 2020 The Cavs are like the kid who shows up to present their project and try’s to go last after seeing everyone else’s be better.

shaydre1019 1,062 Posted November 30, 2020 The Cavs jersey just feels like a high level executive really strong armed the whole design and designers basically did what they could to please them and get it over with.

That sounds about right. I remember when we introduced "The Land" jerseys, most people didn't like the jersey color, but enjoyed the concept of it. That being said, the concept of the jersey is cool, but the execution of it is terrible. I agree with most people, they should've used the unused jersey from the All-Star game. That would look better than what the jersey is.

Having lived through the era, I don't recall them being especially cool to begin with; they were just everywhere.

A darker shade of blue and a V collar instead of crew cut and it’s damn near identical to the Knicks black trimmed uniforms. Would probably be too close
FinsUp1214 5,552 Posted November 30, 2020 Surely there was a better way for the Cavs to pay homage to the Rock and Roll HOF than this. I totally get the concept, but that doesn’t make it good by any means. The sketching (?) effect on the number and “C” is actually pretty cool - they could’ve done that to the whole primary “Cleveland” wordmark or even the city one they’ve previously used, and that would’ve worked very well. What they did, however, does look like a ransom note (I got some Batman Forever Riddler vibes from it) and is just a bit much.
