I think I’ve decided that the “pewter” (looks black here) jersey is the best of the set

The lack of an orange inside/double outline on the numbers still bugs the heck out of me. If this were black and not pewter you’d have one hell of a Falcons jersey.

"For real" as in not the 10,000 "iNsTa eDiZ" from the last two months.

Could you restate this in adult words please?

I thought this was about the release of the new threads, not about Tom Brady being photographed in jerseys.

This was the most well-timed uniform overhaul in the history of the NFL, possibly sports

This would be an interesting topic. The Cavaliers 2003 rebrand coinciding with winning the LeBron lottery was incredible timing. Seahawks 2011 coinciding with Russell Wilson getting drafted would also be a strong contender

I was going to say that this is the second time Brady has done this, but I think the navy-Y2K Patriots look debuted one year earlier, in the last official year of the Bledsoe era. Although that may have been the first Belichick year? Did the royal blue and italics get kicked out with Pete Carroll?

Yeah the navy unis started in 2000 with Belichick as the new coach, Bledsoe as starting QB, and Brady as a rookie. This far, it was the only season in which Belichick had a losing record with the Patriots (5-11).

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Agreed, I like it a lot more than I thought I would, but if it just had some orange it would be near perfect for me.

I was just recently thinking about how the Warriors' rebrand back to blue and gold was so perfectly timed with the rise of the Splash Brothers as the team turned into a dynasty. Compiling more of these together might make an interesting thread.

Orange would make it outstanding, but I, too, like it a lot more than I thought I would. I think it looks pretty sharp.

I pre ordered a Brady jersey and it finally came end of last week. It’s basically identical to the pre alarm clock Nike jerseys other than the color and logos/wordmark. It almost looks like a knockoff in comparison.

2012 actually, but agreed otherwise.
