Huh that’s interesting. Maybe the bucs should base there design on this one, spacer.png

It flag makes no sense for the Bucs to use that flag. Quelch was based out of Massachusetts, Calico operated in the Caribbean. It would make sense to mix the old white helmet pirate logo with the recent  Calico Jack logo. It's too much of a risk and the flag doesn't seem to be related to the state of Florida or the Bucs.

It was a joke

I've got a dribbble, check it out if you like my stuff; alternatively, if you hate my stuff, send it to your enemies to punish their insolence!

But it's freakin badass...It explicitly states that death of your opponent is iminent and that their hearts will be ripped out in a grotesque act of terror.

Who in their right mind would want to play against a team wearing this flag on their helmets???

Checks out, makes as much sense as “wear black to intimidate them”.

Who in their right mind is terrified of a football helmet decal?

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Ripped out specifically by an alien with tiny footballs for hands and no genitalia.

Badass indeed.

If the Bucs draft hats are any indication it would appear there will be no changes to the logo

IIRC we went thru this same thing with the Jets' draft hats last year.  They kept the logo under wraps even while producing more fan gear.

Why not?  Might make people buy stuff twice.

Ok what is Big Guava football?

You know, just my 2 cents, I think it’s really dumb when teams trot out a nickname like this that only people from the area will get. Like it’s a pretty general thought that “Titletown” refers to Green Bay and “America’s Team” refers to Dallas and etc.   But when we get something like this it’s just dumb because 98% of the population has no clue what the hell that is. I feel like it’s poor marketing/branding on the teams part.

The Big Guava appears to be a nickname for Tampa. One I have never heard of until right now.

It's more a local term.  You dont hear it often here, but it is used.

But the point of these sort of things is that they are for the 2% of the population that do have a clue.

The Big Guava is my favorite city nickname because Tampa became a major city specifically due to some guy not being able to find Guava trees in the region. It's literally named for something that never existed in the area.

Yeah I had never heard of this before. Apparently the founder of Ybor City went there looking for guava, didn’t find any, and built a cigar plantation in the area, which was mostly empty before then.

It’s kind of a dumb nickname considering that, and it’s a pretty DEEP cut considering the obscurity, but it’s also a lot more interesting than I expected it to be.

I missed read the word at first and thought it was some kind of celebration of bat poop.

My mistake.

Guano is actually a pretty fitting descriptor for that franchise, so it makes sense.

Somehow this could be applicable in our world today. Who would've thought pirates/buccaneers were so forward thinking?

Now this is starting to make sense...

I don't see anything wrong with doing a new Bucco Bruce as a secondary or tertiary logo. I'm not saying mine are the best examples of that, but my thought is to do a pirate that is not a skull, just to keep it separate.
