Well, there ya go. If true, this problem is now moot, and we get the best of both worlds!

Interesting. Not sure if this is just Arians talking out his backside or not. Maybe it got buried in the new CBA.

Heard that on the show this morning too. I’ll believe it when I see it and frankly, I’ll be disappointed that’s true. The One-Helmet Rule has been a blessing in disguise for the NFL

Yep.  If the one helmet rule goes away, get ready for am avalanche of crappy alternative helmets.  No thanks.

It doesn't seem to have much impact on the NHL for teams to have three or four helmets shells, though admittedly aesthetics there aren't exactly the same. And we all know some teams always go mental with whatever new thing comes along, look at the plethora of hideous 90's alternates in major sports for an excellent example of the new idea smell overwhelming teams.

I'd be down with it just so teams can have proper throwback uniforms instead of settling for half-and-half messes or just having none at all. There'll inevitably be a Jags gradient helmet for every Bucs Creamsicle when helmet rules change, it's just the way sports trends tend to work. Why prevent good identities from returning just because a few teams inevitably will make a stinker?

Football helmets are de facto logos.  So are baseball caps.  Teams should have one.  Maybe in baseball they can have a home and away, but a well designed uniform doesn't need two.

I'm fine with teams doing a throwback game every year and having a helmet (or cap) for that, but multiple helmets like how colleges do it would be a bad idea.

Absolutely. There's no set that a second baseball cap improves. Not Oakland, not Cincinnati, sure as hell not Atlanta. One helmet, one ballcap, those should be the rules.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Or just get ready for one helmet for the current set and the possibility of throwbacks with different helmet colors, like it was before the one helmet rule.

Yes, if it is going to happen, NFL needs to restrict it to throwbacks so that we can see the iconic vintage uniforms again for some teams that have not been able to give us this.

Don't fall to the temptation of having 2 helmets (home and road) that are different colours.  Something many CFL teams did in the last decade before that league switched to their own one shell rule.  The team's traditional helmet colour was the home helmet but a different colour road helmet was introduced  As a CFL fan, I hated it.
